ok flasshed image then drivers, installed my chan list cams etc no probs, ran an update for latest software and rebooted. so far so good. ran crossepg update and i have been looking at a spinning vix for about 15 mins, going to force a reboot in adverts as i have no remote controls functioning at the mo.

how many sources have you selected for crossepg ?

for example on my uno i have crossepg / openTV and sky uk openTV28.2/28.4 selected, with this setup my epg takes a minute or two to download and update.

I only use rytec xml bbc. to be honest the whole xml epg stuff confuses me a little but it works so i just use the one that works rather than selecting more than 1 uk source. not to bothered about forign sources as i only watch the football. (and porn)

Steve, If I was you try the openTV on 28.2 It really is imho the best EPG for UK.

You only need to go into EPG to specify location etc and than crossEPG, once in opentv providers and the other in configure - after that forget about and it will download the EPG every day without fail.:thumbsup:

if you only need a epg for sky uk then i would use crossepg mate.

Menu /Setup /System /EPG.

CrossEPG / OpenTV Providers / then select both 28.4 and 28.2 for sky uk.
now setup the daily download schedule.
Configure / make sure that scheduled download is selected and pick a time, mine is set for the default 04.00, the box will tune to a radio channel on sky and download all the EPG data directly from there.

you will need to force a download for the first time by selecting Download now.

I did exactly as you said, and the result is that many English channels have no EPG any more.
I will revert to XMLTV/import, that used to be just fine.

Incidently just a quick footnote, after this update i lost all my hard drive recordings, the lot. i think it may be the firmware update that did it but i thought i would let you all know.

How did you do that? A firmware update can't be responsible for that. Is the HDD even mounted (probably not)?

yeah thats got me baffled too steve. i flashed my uno 6 or 7 times yesterday with 4 versions of vix and DBUK. the flash never touches the HDD unless you accidentally formatted it.

I would check the mount points as it sounds like it may have swapped with a USB stick.

That's what I mean: it occasionally happens that the HDD is not mounted (but flash or USB is mounted as HDD instead).
