[ViX_Misc] 025 "No Restore" can someone clarify please?

So I now know how to backup my timers and a couple of other things in /etc but is there a way to manually backup & restore the box's **general** configuration, things like UI positioning, button behaviour, led setup (GigaBlue Quad)., EPG rows / font sizes, zap behaviour .... and all the other little tweaks I've made over the last year with OpenVix?

Stop scaremongering. The feeds are not down we set them to unstable our selves as a precaution as they also had or be rebuilt for the new OE-A core. Enable the unstable update option.

did that but nothing loads.Thats why the warning.PERSONALY i THINK THAT AFTER A NEW REALEASE THERE SHOULD BE A WARNING IF FEEDS ARE UNSTABLE;IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENS with all the related problems.

just flashed my LX3 the OLD way with a USB stick and every thing seems fine :thumbsup: now to tackle the Duo 2 should have it finished for Dr Who

We always set the feeds to unstable with every major release as a precaution and always have. The feeds this time were still being uploaded which is why they were off line.

Hi guys need some help please, I have installed 25 without restore. I have added my timers and auto timers xml and now trying to scan using Abm. When I go into providers it is not loading anything, please can someone advise?

I happened to check open vix before checking here got Apollo 025 for my vu+duo2.
Flashed and did a restore from previous backup file.
Maybe I fell lucky but all seams well to me.
Suppose time will tell.

Yes Duckhunter. Same here. I experimented with a settings restore from my previous apollo 24 installation for my Vu+ Solo2 and everything seems fine here too.
I wonder what the downsides might be?

Settings restore won't be too much of an issue as location for the popular back up files has not changed but plugins will as new OE and some boxes new kernel so old plugins will not work.

Thanks Stanman. This is slightly different to the initial advice of "will require a complete fresh flash and setup with NO RESTORE."
Losing your epg and channel settings is therefore not necessary...?

That is still the right advice as whilst it MAY work with new OE and kernel it is a risk and preferred and ideal solution to do a Virgin flash.

then started from start downloaded plugins it did say plugins are unstable
currently on technomate nano
