[VU+ Duo] ABM Tutorial draft 1

Hi using a 1.8m dish for 28e plus a 1.2m motorized dish for euro sats
Model Vu-Duo version 3.0 build 808


Problem I am having is when following this tutorial after setup press download epg the motorized dish, which is pointed to 7w, starts to go to 28e Which it cannot receive?

As its to small to receive this sat --- hence using the 1.8m dish so my question is how to tell the motorized dish which is using usals not to look for 28e ?

Comes up with auto bouquet maker
Timeout for tuner lock

The box is going to do what you asked it to do.
If you have set it up for e.g. Sky-UK, it will go and try to fetch the data from 28.2 E. If you set it up for Sky-IT it will go to 13.0E etc.

So are you saying if you use a motorized dish i will always Have problems with getting an epg for 28e ?

ABM is for creating bouquets/service lists, not for downloading EPG.
You can use Cross for downloading EPG. But for Open-TV the same applies: the box will need access to 28.2E to receive data from 28,2E.
You can use the XMLTV-importer for downloading EPG-data for dedicated packages.

Just tried this tutorial How to setup CrossEPG for sky uk in ViX 3.0
As soon as I press download comes up with
crossEPG error No valid NIM found
could anyone explain what that means please ?

crossEPG error No valid NIM found

Means that you set Cross up to use Open-TV (i.e. a download from a transponder on 28.2E). And as you told us you can't receive 28.2E that's not the way to go.

I suggest you to use the other plugin (XMLTV importer) and set it up for the UK (and any other package you might require). That download is done from internet. Whether or not it is covering services you do receive is something only you can tell, after using the plugin.

Crossepg downloader (for EPG) and ABM (for channel lists) have been configured to use an alternative tuner where available. This is so that there is no interruption to viewing.

It seems to me that the receiver has been configured so that both can receive 28.2 when this is not the case.
