Hi,

If I record a file off tv I can see on my box there is the recording plus various metadata files with for example the description of the show I recorded. If I upload an mkv file of my own I would like to add associated description. What are the files standards I would need to enable this to happen? Does it have to be a ts file for example and how do the associated file/s need top be structured?

Thanks,

Dan

Convert the mkv to ts (I use VideoReDo6)
Copy the ts recording to your movie folder and a ts meta file will be generated when you open the movielist.

Open the ts.meta file with notepad++ and edit as you wish:

LINE 1 1:0:1:C4AE:811:2:11A0000:0:0:0::BLAZE (SERVICE ID, CHANNEL NAME & PICON)
LINE 2
On the Trail of Bigfoot (MOVIELIST TITLE)
LINE 3
The Legend: Journey back through the history of one of America's last great mysteries in search of answers to the Bigfoot riddle. (META DESCRIPTION)
LINE 4
1668592800 (RECORDING DATE AND TIME USING UNIX TIME STAMP) (AUTOGENERATED but you can edit https://www.epochconverter.com)
LINE 5

LINE 6 394968023 (RUNNING TIME - AUTO-GENERATED)
LINE 7
969389852 (NOT SURE - AUTO-GENERATED)
LINE 8
LINE 9
188 (NOT SURE - AUTO-GENERATED)
LINE 10
0 (NOT SURE - AUTO-GENERATED)
EDIT:
Just found this info:

.meta files have currently up to 10 lines:

<service reference>
<name>
<description>
<recording time>
[<tags>]
[<length>]
[<filesize>]
[<service data>]
[<packet size>]
[<scrambled>]

If you want the description to show up when you press Info whilst it is playing you'll need to create an eit file too.

I have a script that will do this, provided you've looked at the containing directory in the Movie list (as this will get LINE 6 and LINE 7 above filled in - and they need to be for the script to work).
