ABM does not require a radio channel.

Not sure what ABM locks onto if there is no existing active channel 28.2 channel, but I know that Lraizer's one zaps to the Sky intro channel. So long as you are on an active 28.2 channel ABM should work.

I fear that your father is affected by the satellite change. Best for him to speak to others/installers in his area and see if they are receiveing any 28.2 signal and compare dishes. May not be possible.

Thanks for the info.

He still gets every channel he his before, apart from the BBC and STV regional channel.

Will try and get a screen grab or photo of the error when ABM runs. I've seen it before on my duo when there wasn't a free tuner. I'm guessing its not locking onto the sat.

I'll maybe talk him thru scanning the frequency that ABM locks onto. see that it finds

Perhaps try Lraizer's plugin or as Rob suggested, download a premade list. Or save one and send to him.

hi there...

wonder if anyone has come across this as an issue or if i am doing something wrong.

I prefer to use autobouquetmaker in vix but i like to add tv3 to position 163... ( i then delete challenge+1) to keep everything in sync.

When i do this with the autobouquets (28.2) this works fine, but with the autobouquetmaker it will not allow me to save tv3 in that position... it actually saves it before BBC1 and with a random channel number of 63!

Not had chance to test this even though i meant to this weekend but been way to busy with work. any hoo Huevos has worked up a fix for those who cant receive ASTRA 2E i'll let him explain.

Both Sky and Freesat tables are being downloaded from UK spot beam transponders. Default transponder for Freesat is 11426 on EB1, and default for Sky is 11778 on Astra 2 PE beam. I'll try a test with these settings just to make sure it works right and if so we can change to those. And if anyone complains about transponders on the PE beam not working they are outside the service area of the satellite and would not be able to receive any channels from the satellite anyway.

These are using Pan-European beam transponders. Need testing.

so here are the files, if you can test them and get back to us, we'll get them added to the GIT if they work as expected.

This should allow those who cant receive ASTRA 2E to still generate a Bouquet with ABM but it wont allow them to tune into channels they can no longer receive due to the changes obviously.

yes unless Huevos has submitted the fix already, these use a transponder on the PE ( Pan European ) Beam so those who cant receive the spot beam should be able to use ABM again with these modifications.

I have tested the England one using London HD region. Nothing untowards found.

so it stll generates the full sky uk bouquet using the amended .xml files pointing towards the PE beam ?, if so then i think Huevos can submit his fix to the GIT.

I'm in London. Ideally, it would be better for somone affected by the Satellite spotbeam changes to test.

Can you remind me where the log is stored. I couldn't find it using ftp. Handy for comparisson.

To be honest mate i cant think of where the log is stored at the moment as for your location that should not make a difference as it's using the PE beam which is still receivable by most of Europe and beyond, but it would be nice to have some one test it who cant receive ASTRA 2E.

Hi guys, I received my VU Duo from world-of-satellite earlier this week with VIX pre-installed and I'm struggling with this plugin. I do have some experience of linux boxes so I hope I'm not being stupid. When I invoke it, it looks to me like it attempts to download a list of providers for me to use in the scan. However, it doesn't retrieve anything. Then when I select 'start scan' the box tells me "Please first setup, in configuration". I have validated that the receiver is connected to the internet by checking for plugins using the plugin browser. I'm thinking that either I am being stupid or the provider list is currently unavailable. Can anyone please help?

edit: scratch that - whilst tinkering around I have discovered I needed to select a tuner for the scan. It's currently scanning now.
