best option for EPG

Im curious what are the advised options for EPG. before it was crossepg but after reading this post https://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?66230-Epg-sourcing&p=535318&viewfull=1#post535318 it seems epgimporter is now advised?

I can see there is openTV epg on the latest version op vix but you cant seem to force it to download the EPG only set it to download on a schedule so its not easy to know what kind of detail it provides unless you wait for auto dl.

For me i have a vu solo2 with 3 channel feeds. Sat(28.2/freesat), DVB-T(Soarview) and IPTV. After setting up epgimporter with all the UK sources and my IPTV source i get 7 days epg for both SAT and DVB but only 1 day for IPTV. I assume this is expected as the IPTV provider is only giving 1 day ahead.

I would of thought that EPGimporter would use the channel names for EPG for the IPTV channels as they have the same name and since it provide 7 days. I take it epgimporter is matching the channels EPG on something other than name?

You can force an OpenTV epg download simply be zapping to "IEPG Data 1" channel for 3 minutes. e.g.. During an ad break when you make a brew!

Best option for UK EPG is built in OpenTV reader and use stream service refs.

AutoBouquets plugin comes with a converter for UK Live IPTV bouquets that have been created using the BMX or JMX plugin.
The AutoBouquetsIptvEPG feature converts iptv bouquets to use OpenTV service refs with 7 days stream epg.

Run the plugins sequentially, BMX > AB > ABIEPG to have Iptv bouquets with stream epg service refs.
