What type of support thread are you creating?
Support question
What OpenViX Image build number are you using?
6.7.015
Have you tried re-flashing WITHOUT settings restore?
NO
Have you tried re-flashing WITH a settings restore?
NO
I have Duo4K SE and it was updated to latest OpenVix somewhere in August-2025 via menu, all was well.

Today (03-October) I tried to update it again via menu as usual, it found new version of a system, created an image back-up etc., rebooted and ... update ended in endless boot. .... Basically after reboot it shows usual OpenViX logo, saying booting slot 1, starting etc. after that "Booting slot 1" and "Starting..." disappears and it stays with OpenViX boot background (one with blue hexagonals on the right) forever, neither booting further nor rebooting.

What is they way to fix it? Please help.
Can i revert it back without flashing a new image via USB stick?

So using something like putty create a telenet session (login with root and your password) and then type init 4 (space between) and then
opkg update && opkg upgrade

If this doesn,t work type init 4 and enigma2 and post the results here.

This thread for Putty if you need it:

init 4 followed by enigma2 produced: "error while loading shared libraries: libudfread.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

init 4 followed by opkg update && opkg upgrade started to download, upgrading and updating.
after reboot it seems to boot & work fine.

Really thank you for your help!

Any idea what went wrong with normal update process?!

(I guess libudfread was missing....)

One of the packages did not build/install properly.

Do you remember exactly which image version number you updated from? This will help us provide a better message

libudfread.so.0 : was there not another topic with same problem ?

OK. I have just been bitten by this. The message said not to update if you were on 6.4.015. I don't think it said if you were on 6.7.015 *and below*.

Machine is frozen.

Ouch. How to fix, please? [OK - reading the above again. I will dive in...]

Mark

Yeah, could not immediately get my head around Telnet (it's been a while!).

I've just done a USB reflash with downloaded image. All is well.
