[VU+ Solo2] box wont boot

hi all

whenever i flash a new image (only tried Apollo 3 and up) when i power off the box it wont boot up, it just stays stuck on starting. when i put back on openvix 808 it will restart no problem.
808 is a backup i have on my pc, i had a lot of issues with the display from 25 up and did a lot of re flashing different image builds. if this narrows down what could be wrong



looks like i am stuck on 808 now unless someone here has any suggestions

Yes, fresh install, also i had being running apollo up to 24(i think) with no problems, i may have updated to 25/26 through the feeds,cant remember to be honest done so many installs. wasnt aware at the time that 25 up required a flash, but i thought if i had botched something up that a clean flash would fix it.

Just something else that may be of importance, i was using FTP to transfer a video to the internal HDD, my mouse is a little over sensitive and it started transferring before i had selected the destination. During the transfer the solo2 froze,(dont know where it transferred to) i had to flash an image on to get it to start again. cant be sure but i think the problems may have started from that. K

Hi mate

I would start again to flash the receiver but unplug any usb sticks for picons and external usb drives then flash your image do not add usb drives until all is know to be working again then add the usb drive and reboot and see if the problem continues then your know its the drive that's crashing the receiver image.

will give that a go, was thinking of disconnecting the internal hdd at some stage and trying a flash again, will go with your suggection first. cheers K

just updated to 032 with all disconnected and it worked perfectly, now the only thing is when the feeds are up again i need to install a driver for my extrnal usb tuner and see it it still works for me. also got my dispaly issue sorted, the problem was HDMI to LR Receiver to TV, i bypassed the receiver and went straight to tv and its now fine. took me a while to bulid up the courrage to go at it because their is a million cables behind the tv and its nightmare to get at them. thanks for the advise. Hi I have a new genuine box with 30 on it and went to update to 32 now it is stuck on starting... on the screen, I'm pretty new to this and don't really know what to do but would like my box working again if anyone can help?

Try to telnet into the box via its ip them log in using root, type init 4 this will stop the booting process, type init 3 and enigma 2 will reload If you still have problems telnet in again, but attach a USB drive with Apollo 32 on it and type reboot, your box will now reboot and prompt you to flash from USB, I would advise at this point to do a fresh setup, I had this problem after attempting a couch flash form 29 to 30 on my duo2 the other night.
