Hi guys,

is it possible to put a parental lock on the menu/setting menu on my box as i have kids that insist on pressing every button on the remote at the first oppotunity and this ends up messing things up.

we all have kids like that lol i'm not sure as i forgot my parenal lock password its the default one though but still i cant go into the p lock menu but if its anything like dm's image then it should be possible

If you enable parental lock you will get the option to protect setup.

tried that mate but doesnt seem to protect anything. when i enable parental lock and enter the my pin, i can still turn off the box, switch it back on and im still able to change the settings without inputting my password in again. so if this is wrong, what am i doin wrong??

can anyone offer me some advice here. ive enabled parental lock, told the box to protect setup but after a restart, if i try to alter tuner settings, scan for services or do anything else in the setup menu, i never once get asked for a pin. i need to sort this out as im slowly geting my view to how i want it to be. its took me nearly 2 months to complete as im a newb and the last thing i want is for my kids to wipe it accidently. any help much appreciated

As it doesnt work what you should do is a full backup of your box and keep it on a USB stick, a full backup will save everything including all your settings and can be restored in a couple of minutes.

cheers mate but does this mean im not the only one this does not work for?? or is there someone out there that has this parental lock enable and it is working

Not working for me, it only locks the parental control menu

i'll see if i can add this feature to protect the whole menus in ViX, once we have our new images out.
