[GiGaBlue QUAD+ PLUS] Does box return to Deep Standby after waking up to record?

I have only had the box for a few days, and have had a number of issues which I am trying to work my way through (with the help of WOS).

Last night I set up some Timers (Auto Timers) to record this morning, and put the box into Deep Standby. This afternoon, I found the box on and no recording in progress (it was a while after the last recording finished).

The question is: should the box return to standby/deep standby in those circumstances?

I can't find a way to edit my post to add the following:

I tried to edit the data block above my post to see if I could correct the data to reflect the correct build number, but no joy as it altered it again to read "Apollo" instead of my input of "030".

Turn on debug logs. Menu -> Setup -> System -> Logs -> Settings -> Enable debug logs = yes.
Upload one the next time the issue happens.
Could be EPG updates, ABM updates, any other updates & so on.
Impossible to tell without logs.

I can do that, but I still ask; is the box supposed to return to standby/deep standby after a wake up for recording?

Set Autotimer so AFTER EVENT is set to 'go to deep standby'.

Most receivers can wake from deepstandby for scheduled recordings to take place but not all can return to deepstandby afterwards without the help of a timer (power timers), I am not sure if the GB quad is one of those receivers that would need a power timer set to go back into deepstandby however.

No, you set it differently for every Autotimer.

With all due respect, that seems to me to be an unusable option. How would a user know in advance if a particular Autotimer needs to have that option set?

For example: I want to set an Autotimer for a programme starting tomorrow at 10:00. I set the option to 'go to standby' and tomorrow I am watching a different programme when the autotimer recording ends - the box will then go to sleep - is that right?

Hi again leshay! The autotimer will wake the box up from deep standby on the Quad+ and will return it to the deep standby state afterwards. The default after recording option is set to "standard", which equates to reverting it to prior state after running a timer recording. If a timer wakes the box from deep standby and is in the middle of performing a recording and you activate the box with the remote to watch something and then the recording finishes you will get a message on-screen to say that the box is now going into deep standby unless you cancel. You shouldn't need to change the default option in the timer or autotimer menu unless you specifically want a particular action to take place after a recording finishes. The standard or automatic option will return the box to the state it was in prior to the recording.
