Hi

I hope this is the right forum thread for enigma2 support?

I have recently started using my receiver again (after a house fire) and cannot seem to get it to work. I had it working at the current location (the new house I am building) as a headless system watching the TV through e2remote on my iPhone and Kodi on my MacBook. However it has just stopped. I can connect to the server on my Gigablue receiver and can get access to and play recordings (I am test recording the news each evening) but the channel manager does not appear to be working and I cannot stream any live TV. Live TV is there because I can take screenshots of the live programmes, it just will not live stream. It is clearly working to make the recordings but I do not understand why I can stream the recordings to my devices but not the live programmes. Get the same results through the webif interface.

Radio appears to work fine.

Where do I start trying to help you to help me please? I can access the satellite box over ssh but have long since forgotten where all the files are or how to start the logging.

As always, any help much appreciated.

Geoff

A quick update.

No idea why but finally I can stream to my iPhone. I am in discussion with e2remote over their app. I still cannot get Kodi to stream. Are there any logs I should be looking at and how do I find them please?

Please bear in mind the receiver is headless so all access is via webif (which is also not streaming) or e2remote.

Hi Huevos,

I have set up enigma2 on the receiver and ensured that webif is running. I have then installed the latest version of Kodi onto my Mac and access the section for TV. When I do this, the channel manager loads as it has connected to the enigma2 server. However, as soon as I try to access the channel list (which is empty) or use the guide (which does list channels) Kodi refuses to stream the live service.

Despite this, Kodi allows me to find and play programs that I have recorded. It seems to me there is a mismatch between the enigma2 server and Kodi. It is of course possible that the latest version is in conflict with the PVR add-on but I have assumed that that has been updated in line with the latest version of Kodi?

I am not sure if I have answered your question correctly but please let me know if there’s more information you need.

No idea about running kodi on a Mac so I'm going to leave this for someone else to answer.

I have finally got webif to stream to my MacBook but it was just by chance. When I open a bouquet there are three icons over the channel details:

EPG for channel
Stream (looks like a PC screen)
Stream Encoded (looks like a portable phone)

I managed to get it to stream to my e2remote app and then while playing with the Mac, I tried stream encoded and it worked! Is there some information on the difference between stream and stream encoded I can look at? Why does the Stream get a PC icon as it is kind of misleading for those of us that are not expert.

I am just looking for an explanation for clarity, not for help as it appears I have cracked it.
