GIT on open box

on dreamos i was used to developing plugins on the box. with apt all the required git packages were available and could be installed easily. in the open world unfortunately no .ipk packages are available.
that's why i decided to install a ubuntu on the box and use it in a chroot environment. ubuntu provides all git packages and other tools like pylint, etc.
for development i use vscode that accesses the code in the gits on the box thru samba share from windows.
with this setup i can create ipks for testing and release fixes to gits easily.

You can easily develop on windows with vscode without to need ubuntu on the box.
You also have all linters and python stuff available (with minimal configuration).
I use it in that way.

yes, i know but i wanted to avoid copying files back and forth between windows and the box.
maybe i should have mentioned that i use 2 pcs. and i didnt want to deal with keeping stuff in sync.
