H9 Combo playback problem

I recently purchased a Zgemma H9 combo (pre-flashed by WOS with VIX 5.3.0.0.1) & fitted an internal HDD, but I'm having playback problems.
It records ok, but sometimes on playback the picture randomly freezes (whilst the sound continues), I then have to press STOP, then PLAY & select play from last position to continue.
I can force this fault to appear by fast forwarding & dropping back into play, the problem usually (but not always) appears within about 10 secs.
I thought it may be the HDD (1TB Samsung) so I fitted a 250GB Toshiba temporarily, but it exhibits the same problem.
Anyone else come across this bug, any thoughts/suggestions?

Are boxes flashed with image and sold with internal hdd come already mounted or is that up to the user in setup.

I don't know about boxes sold with HDD, I fitted my own.
Drives fully wiped prior to installation & then initialised/mounted using the built-in utility, so I assume its Ext4

How are you fast forwarding? If using the arrows this has always been problematic in enigma2. Try using the number buttons (3/6/9) to quickly skip through the recording (1/4/7 to go back).
