hard drive recording question

I am thinking of buying a new receiver, I have a genuine DM8000 with a 1TB hard drive in with quite a few recordings, if I bought a new VU+ Duo2 would I be able to put video files on a drive in the Duo2

u should be able to I think they use the same format for recordings
