Has there been any progress in being able to use your own Sky HD card in the Vu+ Solo 2 ?

which progress are you referring to? Because there never has been any problems doing this unless your cards been in an official receiver lately? in which case you won't be able to ever again as its paired.

The premium HD channels are currently not available to any thirdpary receiver only sky uk branded receivers.

Yes but it has nothing to do with forcing a re-pair of the card, there is currently nothing you can do to activate premium sky uk HD channels on any box but a sky uk receiver whether the card has been paired or not.
