HS7 remote dead, nearly.

Had this receiver for a few years now and been fine except for the odd reboot needed.
Now I have the problem the remote does nothing, well nearly nothing. Remote will not switch box on or off, adjust volume, channel change well in fact basically everything.
If I switch off at the wall it comes up with Channel 1 which on mine is BBC Parliament. I cannot see HDD programmes or EPG.
If when on channel 1 I hit OK button it shows what the channel is and that channel is fine but that is it. I cannot get the remote to do anything else.
Obviously checked batteries which are ok as is evidenced by the OK button changing the screen.
A a loss.

Same with my remote! Have to use the "Dream EPG" app on Android, but its a right pain in the neck when you just want to change the channel or mute it quickly! Is there an alternative USB linked remote I could use? I tried a kodi usb remote, but wasn't able to map the buttons to correct functions

They do not last for ever I had gigablue quad uhd 4k remote that stopped working after a year , basic test put camera on phone

Tried that if I press any key the light flickers for 35 seconds then goes out. This repeats anytime a key is pressed.

Tried the tv remote that works as one would expect.

You can get a cheap replacement on amazon and its better then the original. Its not worth messing with it.
