Ok so the Long and Lat is set as discribed. If I use the sat finder option the dish moves fine but its not finding satellites where it should. The system shows 19.2/13.0 etc but won't lock onto anything so it's clearly not pointing where it should. At 16.0 is locks and scans channels but they're not from the correct satellite (I think these are 19.2).

I disconnected the old receiver last night and that was fine so it's not the dish I've set something wrong on the new receiver. If lat & long are correct what else can i try?

Post a screen shot of your tuner config.

Have you installed a channel list and tried checking channels that way?

Menu > Plugins> Green for Download> Settings
Pick from any of the motorised settings.

No not looking to download channels lists - maybe in a couple of weeks when I'm used to the box, wouldn't know where to start yet but have flashed before on other boxes. Happy to tune/edit myself but need to be able to lock onto the satellites first.

First downloading a list (from the feeds) and see what channels on what satellites you can actually receive is a very easy way to see how your system is working.

Your settings are fine. It seems that your dish assembly was not set to USALS and you will have to use Diseqc motor controls to store each position. I am afraid that I do not know how to do that. Have a look at this post

I would strongly recommend that you install a motorised chanenl list. It is only a few button presses and you can remove quite easily. There is nothing to stop you scanning afterwards. It will take the guesswork as to which satellite you are on out of the equation.

Thanks Abu. It sounds like the issue is my motor then - it is a Technomate TM-2300 Super DiSEqC so I assume it is not USALs compatible.

In answer to the other points about channels. The Sky channels are on the 25.5E transponder I scanned rather than 28.0E and the German channels such as ARD, SRF etc are to be found at 16.0E rather that 19.2E. It is definately out of alignment as it stands.

If I install a motorised list will that:
a, basically show a list of channels that I can then direct the receiver to and it will go to the correct satellite for the channel in question?
b, once those channels are stored I can then make an assumption which satellite they are on and then manually tune the receiver to the satellite.
c, is there a Vu+ guide to tuning each satellite via DiSEqC that might help?

Motor itself is fine and is USALS compatible. It is just fitted wrong.

a. Yes. If you are stll on USALS it will go to the calculated position. You still wont get a picture.
c. That guide I posted will apply to your receiver too as Enigma2 is the same.

Your dish assembly is basically 3 degrees out. It needs to move a bit.
What I would recommend you do is as follows (if safe for you to do):
d. Leave tuner config as it is.
e. Install channel list from feeds.
f. Select a channel on the installed list.
g. Slacken the nuts on the fixings that attach the motor to pole. Do not touch anything between motor and dish or dish itself.
h. Have someone watching the telly
i. gently push the whole assembly east until "I got a picture".

Ok thank you Abu and Rob for you patience. I 'll have to park the installation as I'm out of time this weekend. I will give some thought to the next stages and crack on next weekend. I have a few other queries but unrelated so i'll set up a new post for those. Nothing's ever easy is it confused. Sure it'll be worth it in the end.

Before doing any adjustments, go into positioner setup and do a "go to zero".

If that doesn't work continue with USALS and as a temporary fix just fudge the longitude settings.
