[Venton Unibox HDx] Menu button not working?!!

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help.

My venton Unibox Hd2 started with the fairly common dots all over the display last night, and i noticed that pressing "Menu" on remote didnt actually do anything, so I decided to upgrade to Helios this morning. ( Was still on Zeus).

After a couple of attempts and getting stuck in a booting loop, I have managed to flash Helios .004 and go through the initial setup as a new box.

Unfortunately the problem with the Menu button not working, is still present. Everything else seems to work, but obviously not being able to access the main menu, is somewhat of an issue.

It is the same with both the original remote and my Harmony One - pressing Menu on the remote does nothing.

Luckily I can use my iphone as network remote and Menu works fine from that, and then I can navigate with normal remote just fine.

I have since updated to latest Helios but problem persists along with dots all over the Unibox display.

Any ideas?

I have similar kind of problem. Sometimes menu works, sometimes not. It start from updating to Helios 012 and still is on version 013. Bug maybe?

same here flashed newest helios release to my venton hd2 and menu button stopped working.. and noticed another problem too that my harmony remote won't start or shutdown box anymore.

i had openatv before and started everything from scratch with openvix helios so its not some old stuff which is causing this.

Same problem started also on Venton HD3. Menu and OK buttons don't work anymore. Helios 15 now upgraded to box via command line and problem still the same.

I followed the debug log and dont get anything from the Menu or OK keypresses from remote there.

If I try the same from WebUI remote it works and I get to debug:

Additional bit of information. I tried with my backups from helios 10 and 6 (restored them), but same issue with both of them.
Some timebomb in drivers thats causing this?

Hi, Same problem with the Miraclebox Premium Twin HD. Menu and ok stops working. Problems started when moved to Helios from 3.0.

Problem is located with the dvb.ko driver.
I downloaded an older one (16.1.2014) from multikom forum, installed it and buttons started to work.

IR Remote becoming unresponsive

Hi, box is Venton Unibox HD2

I was previously using "openvix-3.0.750" and initially installed "openvix-Helios.010" it was at this point that I noticed issues with the IR remote, the box is taking some time to respond to keys such as "channel+" and "channel-" however there are some keys that the box is not responding to at all including "ok" and "menu".

Fresh install of 015 no plugins, same issue is being seen.

I know this is only linked to the IR remote as I have a network based remote installed on my phone and the box responds to all network commands correctly, including "menu" and "ok".

Another thing that I have noticed is that under "User Interface" settings there is an option for "show second infobar" the default setting is "5 seconds" I've set this to none however this setting is not being saved, the settings keeps reverting to "5 seconds"

I've added the debug logs however there doesn't seem to be any mention in these logs that i've been repeatedly pressing "ok" and "menu" on the ir remote, but hopefully you can see what could be causing the issue in these logs, thanks.

It seems it is a driver issue. You will have to wait for updated drivers from your receiver's manufacturer.

Could it be possible to get that older (working driver) to builds while waiting for the corrected one from manufacturer (that could take some time...)?
