Hi there

I've been trying for the past week to configure a new FTP user to have access to a specific directory (ie media/hdd/movies) on my Solo2 & cannot get it to work.

Whatever I do, the new user gains access via /

I tried following something similar to this: http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/83221/how-to-create-a-ftp-user-with-specific-dir-access-only-on-a-centos-linux-ins?rq=1.

Using telnet I have set a password for root. From root I adduser (ie John) & set password for John.
I edit vsftpd.conf with
Code:
chroot_local_user=YES

Finally I set home directory for user John via telnet:
Code:
usermod -d /media/hdd/movies/ John
.

Having taken the above steps, user John still gains access to / & not /media/hdd/movies.

I know I'm missing something, but not sure where. Can anyone provide some guidance on this please?

Thanks

Loui
