[VU+ Solo SE] OpenViX - Virgin frequency issue - West Yorkshire

Total newbie here, I hope someone can help me out with a small issue

I recently purchased a vu+ Solo cable box flashed with ViX image as I am trying to pick up the free to air channels on virgin as I don't have means to set up a digital aerial or sky dish thus this is my only option.

I cancelled my Virgin TV subscription sometime ago but still have my broadband with them, unfortunately my virgin set top box stopped working (I cant access the engineer menu to find out freq), hence purchasing a vu+.

I have scoured lots of forums but cant seem to find the correct frequency for my area, West Yorkshire, below is an image of my current setting, note the frequency is set to 411, I found this on a forum somewhere but when scanning for channels It only finds 2 channels, Sky sports 5HD and Hidden 25 channel. When trying to do an automatic scan this doesn't work.

I believe I just need to enter the correct frequency for my area if any one knows what that would be (West Yorkshire), or may be I got it all totally wrong, the images below show my issues:

You are only scanning on transponder, so your SOLO_SE is only finding the chanenls on that transponder.

Use net id 00000

Obviously easier to find net id from receiver nearby. There are quite a few Net IDs in West Yorkshire. You may want to try Leeds or Barnsley with ABM before doing a manual scan.

you know the part that says "used service scan type: Provider" then "provider to scan: virgin Media Uk" is that the one i set here:

For ABM,
You scroll through the net ids by pressing right/left until you reach the one you want to try.

You may want to try this to try and find your net id. As said easrlier, easier to check a nearby receiver.

Hi abu,

do you know how I can select "provider to scan: virgin media uk (6952)" the only option I get is: "Provider to scan: bruteforce for uk"

The option to scan virgin media uk (6952) is in the cables.xml file loaded with the image. It could be that the cables.xml file for the Solo SE has a different heading eg bruteforce for uk.

It does not matter what the heading is called, what is important that the cables.xml file contains all the possible frequencies on both QAM64 & QAM256 so that you do a full scan. If your cables.xml file has all the possible frequencies and has these grouped under the heading "bruteforce for uk" you should be ok.

When you do the scan it should say about 550 channels found - that is virtually everthing possible.
