Yes that's what I've been thinking all along. I still think there may be a problem with the box. It's just I want to be sure before I'd send it back as postage from northern Ireland will be quite expensive! Anyway thanks for the suggestions, if nothing else that's a brilliant app and will be useful in the future to me anyway.

did you sort this i have this problem With cable version Miraclebox Model Premium Hybrid how often did yours freez mine could go like 10 hours or days before it locks up for 10sec and comes back not sure whats wrong

A friend had something similar with his sat box and for him it turned out to be the PSU. Replaced the external power block with as it happens the power block that a virgin media box uses and the box started working fine. Also turned out that when he had the problem it was only affecting channels on one polarisation. Can't remember which now but all channels say on horizontal would be fine but vertical wouldn't. Nor saying it's the same issue but might be worth considering.
