problem with lnb/motor loosing signal

Hi guys, I have bought the following
vu solo2,
Technomate 2600 motor
Triax 110cm Dish
Smart Titanium Quattro LNB
My config settings below
I have 1 coax cable setup for the moment(just to get signal lock, and then I will install a 2nd cable direct to the lnb and wire it up.
I have the lnb to motor & motor to vu(the booklet says to use input 2 if only using a single cable, but I have tried both)
I have blackhole installed & a neighbour of mine has loaded a boquet with channels on it for me
I've had a look through some topics and didn't come across much answers


Now I have everything set up, but I seem to be having a problem with the box finding signals
I have used the following config, I also have a small little "sat finder" device, it basicly just beeps when it finds at sat & I can adjust the sensitivity to get it more accurate
So when I go into the setting and go to the option "sat finder" I have option "manual settings" I get no signal/sound on the sat finder(like as if it is getting now power from the vu) but when I go to "predefined transponder" the
sat finder starts beeping to say there is power coming through & the signals on the display start showing signal, I get a lock on.Great! but when I exit out the sat finder stop beeping after about 5 seconds(like all power/signal has been cut) and no channels display

The funny thing is, my neighbour brought the box into his home and connected his motor & dish(different make motor,) and the box received the channels perfect and could move the dish
So why is my setup only seems to be getting power when I go to "predefined transponder", I've done a factory reset - no difference

On another note so I would not have to have 2 wires coming into the home for the twin tuner, is there a way I can have 1 wire coming into the house and then split into 2 so I could have the 2 tuners(I know the signal can't be split, but I would only recording while watching something on the 1 sat freq, maybe a 2X1 diseqC switch?

 LOF - Universal LNB
 Voltage mode - polarisation
 Increased voltage - no(tried with yes also 12V & 18V)
 Tone mode - Band
 DiSEQC mode - 1.3
and I have input my location

Is your lnb a quad or a quattro? If its a quattro send it back - its designed for distribution systems

Good question, I took the box of it out of the bin yesterday to keep it just in case. I will check when I get home,
I see the place I got it off have a "quad & Quattro" by the same make(Smart titanium) and form looking at the pics they look very similar, but I did give the part number to the place and went to collect it and it was taken out of a box on the floor, hopefully I could be onto something, if anyone has any other ideas thanks!

actually now that I think of it, I had an old sky single lnb and I had put that onto the dish and I was still having the problem as with the smart lnb

Maybe you're not pointing at the correct satellite. Those meters wont help you if you are pointing at the wrong bird.

I think I am at 28.8 (the neighbours dish in on the wall so have a slight area to point) I even get a lock on in the sat finder, (when I go to predefined transponders) its like I can't save that setting and exit to a channel it stops sending the power to lnb

Do a manual scan on that transponder to see what channels are on it. A lot of the same transponder frequencies are used on 19e as well.

I think I was aiming at 19 also, can't really remember the settings layout, but don't I have to exit out of the predefined transporter to go back and do a scan?

Yes you do have to exit but why is that a problem. Your receiver is working correctly as proved by connecting to your neighbours dish.

when I exit out of the sat finder-> "predefined transponder" tab settings, the power is stopped sending to the lnb/motor after about 5 seconds, so then I pick up no signal.
I'll try it later anyway also

wrong bouquet loaded or your looking at the wrong sat, do a manual scan

what deg should I have the dish at and also the motor elevation?

HI nick, I haven't.(still not too busy on what angle I should have the motor arm, or dish angle
although I did notice last night when I was moving the sat around by hand and when I went to manual scan it would send the power to the lnb so I think I am getting somewere,
the lad I got the equipment off is coming up for a look later, are you not from Bristol nick?

Hey just to update, got sort & up and running now.
lad with a propper sat finder came up, locked on in minutes.
I think the problem could have been down to the bouquets that I had already on it, & maybe the image on it wasn't flashed properly they were wrong and a manual scan had resolved it,
happy enough... for the moment, now to learn more stuff with it
