problems flashing a vu+ duo

hi. i just bought a vu+duo second hand and set it up, everything was great for about an hour and then i tried to install something off one off the menu's.after that it turn on but no signal,kept saying to check the turner. tried factory reset but made no difference, i finally, and as a last resort tried to flash it with the latest blackhole. followed the instruction, created the folder and put the usb into the machine. it follows the same process, start usb, erase flash, programming( blue screen), reading usb(black screen) and then the pocess starts again. can anyone please help

try flashing with latest vix image did u check the tuners were at 28.2

should i try to flash it with a null modem. I'm a newbie at this so please excuse me if i don't make to much sense but the 2 tuners have 4-5 setting but i don't think they went up to 28.2, just the lower end, maybe up tp 7.0

28.2E is the satellite you have to set the tuners to scan for the channels - you do have it connected to a satellite dish, and check that you have good connections

now when i turn it on, it gets stuck on starting and a red light at the front. does that mean its useless or is there something i can do with it . many thanks

Its possibly a counterfeit receiver. Are there any stickers on the outside?

another scenario is that it started to show signs of the RED Light of Death and it was offloaded before it set in permanently

theres a sticker a the back. bar code and vu+duo and one on the top saying not to update the software from anywhere except www.vuplushd.tv. another strange thing ( to me at least ) is that i got in touch with the seller and he sent me a backup file. put it on memory stick and bang, it up and running again. 2 files, kernel_cfe_auto.bin and root_cfe_auto.jffs. has anyone got any idea as to what version of vxi that is

Its a clone - you should have done what it said on the sticker. Unfortunately you wont get any support here.

As above, this means your receiver is a illegal counterfeit clone and as such I will now close this thread as we cant help with these receivers.
