Hi
i am running the new image most upto date 161
There seems to be a problem when i play a new recording i was fast forwarding tru adverts 16 x and my box froze never went to black reboot screen it just sat there with the vix spinner spinning left over night nad was still the same in the morning had to switch box off to cure ,this as happened both times i have used the fast forward same result,

any ideas how i can fix this as my wife uses this feature alot, and it as took me ages to talk her into my new et9200 and get rid of the sly box

thanks Paul

Are you using the VIX skin?

Also have you got debug logs enabled? if not please do that and next time this happens post the log for that time.

When you use the number pad does that cause the same issue?

hi stanman
yes using vix image and i have not changed the skin just the one the image came with ,yes the logs are enabled but it does not log anything when this happens i already sent two logs when using u tube and the box crashed but when this happens i do get the new black screen and it reboots , but like i said checked the logs this morn and there is none for the fast forwards problem

as for the number buttons not sure what you mean as im a new user of this type of system but if you can explain how to use i will try it

many thanks Paul

if your talking about debug logs they are written while the box is active and only then dumped to file upon reboot, so reboot the box after you experience the problem and look in /media/hdd for a log with the date and time of the reboot.

Sorry, if this post isn't going to be that useful, but I have the same issue when ff'ding when in time shift, it just stops responding to the remote and h/w buttons carried on displaying the current channel but with a spinning VIX logo.

Et9200
Vix 2.3 latest
Vix skin

The other half has just grabbed control for a prog she wants to watch, but will post logs as well after if thats ok?
Is there any private info in the logs I need to remove?

enable debugging
menu>setup>system>logs>settings. set enable debug log to yes.

now after you experience this problem reboot the box and look in /media/hdd/ for a log that corresponds to the time and date of the reboot, this is the debug log we need. you can upload it here or again use the logs manager. but remember to turn off the debug log function when your done with it or it will continue to log until you do.

no there is no private info in the logs but if your worried just use the log manager and send them directly to us rather than uploading to the forum.

just looked in there but theres nothing in saying log at the moment i will enable and send soonest thanks Paul

Just sent you one of the logs, the date seems strange (i know the date and time is correct when running)! There was also a 4Mb log with just repeating lines from one minute previous to the one I sent, it contained 68760 lines of.....
