I've had satellite systems for years. Started with a 'own' setup back before Sky came on board. Then had Sky ever since.
last Christmas I treated myself to a Spiderbox 6000HD (in my opinion a great box for starters) with a 90cm Triax and a Dark motor. that was a baptism of fire. I had planned a self install but 3 weeks later I couldn't get things to work correctly. Turned out to be a faulty motor. A professional dish install with a technomate motor and I was up and running.
being a computer 'geek' (well an IT manager by profession) I saw the main limitation of the Spiderbox to be that its a fixed o/s and not very configurable so, despite risking a divorce, I bought a VU+ Uno box. Love it!!!! Currently got it with Black Hole firmware, cool TV guide and MyMetrix.
