For some tasks (background ones?) any errors don't end up in the debug log. Instead they are displayed in a pop-up screen.
The issue I have is that this doesn't show all of the message - the final line (i.e.the one which shows where the error occurred) is not all visible.

Does anyone know:

  • Why these don't go to the debug log?
  • Which screen this is (so I can have a look at modifying the skin to show more text...)?

I'm using the ViXBMC_1080_Confluence skin.

The pop-up looks like this:
attachment.php

Don't worry about the error itself - I'm testing some AutoTimer code (and have fixed this one now anyway - fortunately there was only one instance of "+" in the changes I'd made).

Not answering specific question, but may assist in your current project.

Start Enigma2 in console mode or log using null modem cable. You should have everything without having to refer to debug log.
Code:
init 4
enigma2

init 6 will return to normal

it looks like it's skin dependent as to how this gets displayed to the screen.

HOWEVER - that's not the real problem (although making the text scrollable in the skin would be nice...)
The real problem is that it never gets into the debug log file.

Here's a simple patch to fix that (just print the error text as well as sending it to the MessageBox).

Code:
--- Task.py.orig.3.2_030
+++ Task.py
