Hi all,

I am trying to use Openwebif on my tablet and in the main it is working well. I wanted to try and stream a recorded program in the movielist and went into "Movies". Located the recording and clicked the large screen icon (to stream without transcoding) and it doesn't work. Tried the smaller screen (transcoding) and this also did not work. The only option that seems to work in my openwebif is the "download" icon.

I just get a screen like this:
openwebif streaming not working.webp

I have checked the config for openwebif in plugins and it is set to 8001 as expected:
openwebif.webp

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks
Paul

oh no.....

I tried Dream Player from the play store instead as it seemed that this was a solution that would work (to replace dreamdroid that is now no longer maintained) but this keeps timing out when trying to connect (both port 80 and 8001) and even when supplying the root password.

Thanks
Paul

dream epg seems to work after a fashion but its a paid app. Who would have thought that it could be so difficult. I wonder why Openwebif doesn't work. You mentioned "most browsers". Which ones are not "most" I wonder?

All sorted. For anyone looking to do this on android.. I used both Dream Epg from the Google play store (via its built in player and also Enigmadroid from git hub (not available on the Google play store). Both work well but I find the latter more intuitive and simple to use (although you need an external player like vlc or uplayer set up as a default player for movie files.

Cheers
Paul

I can use dream Player or DreamDroid to stream to my phone from an et8000. (The latter is on Google Play, although search does not find it - so look on githib for the, archived, source and follow the link from there).
