Suddenly cant ftp or telnet into duo?

the strangest thing has now happened, my ftp password is now not recognised, even though i logged into ftp earlier today. Cant get into telnet either to change the password..... very strange indeed!!! wdf is going on!

The only change to the receiver i made was to add the laptop as a mount so that i can share the drive from that also, i never changed any passwords etc so def cant understand why my ftp password would have changed... have also tried dreambox and blank for both, still the same. Any ideas??

How would my password suddenly now not be recognised?

changes in your network that we discussed in another thread, ftp password hasn't changed, local IP adresses have...

your telnet/ftp client might include telnet/ssh & many other protocols.
some easier than others to get mixed up.
how exactly are you trying to log in & what app are you using?

im using flash fxp that ive always used, and was able to use earlier this evening mate.

local ip address as confirmed from the adapter settings on the duo

192.168.1.16

port 21

username: root (have also tried leaving it blank

password : (my password that was working earlier) have also tried leaving this blank, combo of username root and password blank, username root pass dreambox
All with the same result

Also trying vucc to telnet in with my password, same result, cant connect

Also in dreamedit the ip is confirmed as able to connect, but the username and password bit shows incorrect and unable to connect

maybe try a new ftp client such as filezilla, never faled me yet.

flash fxp is still working with my solo, so i dont imagine its that. Is there a way of reseting the ftp (system password ?) to default? Or someway of getting into telnet to change the password. My current password is now not recognised for some strange reason, so i cant get into telnet in the normal way....

ok, not sure why and how that happened as i did not change my password! anyway, i re-installed a back up that i had on usb and so the image re-installed with my previous root password, which i have now been able to telnet in and change..

very strange, but anyway, all good now....

One possible reason could be that someone else changed it either locally or remotely. Make sure your network is secure just to be safe.

Was thinkin that too buddy... Have changed all my passwords now anyhow to be sure to be sure!
