Suggestions for replacement box please.

My Xtrend 8500 has just died - red light, no fan, no ping. This is the main box that I use for recording terrestrial tv (4 tuners) and then copy to a central storage area.
I also have two 'simple' additional boxes used for replay only. All boxes are running VIX.

I'm looking for a replacement and things seem to have moved on quite a bit.
I need something that records terrestrial tv in a format that can be played by my other recorders.

Any suggestions?

already tried new power adapter ? 12 volt 3.5 amps minimum.

12v and 5.4 amps.

I would try to uncouple HDD and new power unit 12 V 3.5 amps minimum. Superbox is VU+ duo4K but not easy to find anymore

Buy a second hand one, its on ebay.de and you will have the tuners from the old. Its too good a box to discard.

I've got a working an excellent condition ET-8500 you can have for £60.00. No tuner modules installed though, you'd have to use the tuner modules you have.

As a positive comment - this is one of my all time favourite boxes - was really annoyed when Xtrend stopped.
You can even get this box to multiboot (2 images) - needs correct bootloader to do that.

Doesn't the USB multiboot work on any box? With "unlimited" images?

Of course... but I was just commenting that this box has an inbuilt multiboot capability albeit limited to 2 images ... probably the first box to offer this facility.
