Timeshift. Help please

ive already had timeshift working but now its not.

Do you want Time shift to be always available, i.e start automatically or do ou want to have to start it manually

Timeshift is ability to rewind through a program. So you can rewind back and see something you might have missed. You can have it start automatially, or you can start it manually.

Manually starting timeshift:
Soemone comes to visit. You want to be able to rewind afterwards. You press Pause. Once you are free to watch, you can press plau and carry on. You can fast forward through the bust syou dont want.

Automatcially starting timeshift:
You set how long time shift starts automatically. 10 seconds is a good time. You are watching something. You ask yourself "Did I really see that?/Wow that was great build up play". You can rewind back and play it back. Adjusting speed as required.

how can you use timeshift for multiple events? auto timeshift works for me very good, but when event finish timeshift is flushed and new timeshift for next event is started. so if current event finish i can't rewind (<<) or skip back (<) to previous one, just begining of current one. with PTS plugin you can configure how many event's should be timeshifted in row, but i can't find such setting for openvix and PTS doesn't seem to work with openvix.

What box & image & build are you using?
ViX has PTS built in, no need to install anything for it.

openvix hades 0.12 for vu+ solo2. there is no setting for how many events should be timeshifted in timeshift menu. like i said before when current event is finished timeshift is flushed and u can only rewind/skip back to begining of new event, but not previous.

That is not correct, timeshift is not flushed. You can go back to the previous event, but not with the rewind button. IIRC, it is the < button (next to 0).

The time shift to previous event has not worked for a long time. IRC stopped working back prior to Apollo

As said, you cant rewind into a previous event using the rewind button. You can jump back to the previous event. One press goes to beginning of current one, (mega rewind if you will), next press takes you into previous event.

or (new way) you can now press < or > when in a timeshift state to skip to previous/next events. pressing < will skip to the previous event and start rewinding from the end backwards, pressing > will (if anywhere in current live timeshift event) exit timeshift and go live (just like pressing stop does), if you are in a previous event it will skip to next event and start playing from the beginning.

In one of your PTS threads, I confirmed your issue. I was mistaken, I may have used the rewind button instaed of the < button.

@abu baniaz: like i wrote before i can't go back to previous event neither with rewind (<<) or back (<). i think it may be a bug coz when i use rewind (<<) and for example 3 event's should be timeshifted it rewinds current event 3 times (same event). i saw in /mnt/hdd/timeshift/ that there are pts_livebuffer_X files for each event. so phisicly it's there, but hardlink timeshift.X always points to the last pts_livebuffer files.

This is the video I mentioned, it is from 18/11/2014, on a TM Nano OE. As you should be able to see, I can jump back into the previous event.

Could be a Duo specific issue. Would be good if others can confirm.

After you start rewinding, first < will take you to beginning of current one. Second < will take you to end of previous event.

One press goes to beginning of current one, (mega rewind if you will), next press takes you into previous event.
