Update Bug!

Nothing FREE about this hobby!
I do understand that no one gets paid & the image is for free but it was you, yourself that posted there was a bug in the update & a fix would be uploaded. I & others obviously updated (although i hadnt read any posts before doing this) before this & people continued to update after whilst the buggy update was left online. Thankfully it is very easy to get the stb back working for some people. What i cant understand is this seemed quite a big update & you have beta testers! but then again we are all beta testers. Nothing personal & i respect you for what you have achieved here but i'm not like some of the people on this board that are so far up your arse it's laughable i say what i think & can back that up in real life, unlike thier fantasy life they live online.

Sorry, but comments like this are not acceptable. Did anyone tell you to use this image?! And what isn't free!? Ok, you need to buy the box in the first place, but everything else is free. All plugins and images are free...

Yes, the updates stayed online, because there is no way to remove them from the server... So, until the updates went live (which we thought they had already, but as silver says, there was a problem with the upload script!), there was nothing we could do... Yet, only 2.5 hours after you posted your moaning message, the updates went live, and you could stfu and stop moaning...

As for people backing things up irl, how about we only deal with this in real life?! Us in the team just go round to each others, or post memory sticks to each other, and keep the image away from being online?! Oh sorry, we'd have you moaning that you don't have the image then, and why have we withdrawn it from public or summat ridiculous?! You seem like the sort of person that when everything is fine, then great, the minute anything isn't to your liking, then it's someone elses fault and you moan your arse off about it! If only you'd taken a backup before updating, then you wouldn't have to moan! But, you could still ftp on to the box to get all your settings, so could easily reflash and have everything back up and running.

Is that a threat?! As isn't really the conduct we expect here, so please refrain from comments like that!!!

Reading bullshit comments like this make me wonder why the fook we bother!! This whole last week I've been working my B-O-LL-OCKS off to keep this forum and update feeds online, find a dedicated server and get it moved, ALL AT MY FOOKING TIME AND EXPENSE! A COUPLE OF NIGHTS I WAS UP TILL THE EARLY HOURS, THEN UP AGAIN IN THE EARLY HOURS, MADE NUMEROUS CALL'S AROUND EUROPE, ALL AT MY EXPENSE! SO QUITE HONESTLY I DON'T GIVE A SHIT IF YOUR UP MY ARSE OR NOT AND TO BE QUITE HONEST YOUR PROBABLY OFFENDING OTHER MEMBERS BY MAKING SUCH A COMMENT! IF YOUR NOT HAPPY GO USE ANOTHER IMAGE! FOR YOUR INFORMATION, ITS NOT AS EASY AS JUST TO REMOVE AN UPDATE AS OTHER THINGS GET AFFECTED!

Heathen country..? Where's that? It sounds like a place I would like to visit...

Anyhow; everybody playing with boxes like Vu+ and it's brothers and sisters, ought to learn a simple routine. Make a backup before you make a possible f**kup... It's as simple as that. If anything goes wrong, the rescue is only two minutes away.

listen the ViX Tteam does it's best to support you, i and can say (without this sounding like blowing our own trumpet) this site has the best online support for any image anywhere. you show me where you report major bugs (with crash logs) and the fix goes online in matter of hours. we all have our personal lives to live, and other life things to deal with. i have had a real shitty past 3 weeks, so just be greatfull that i'm here at all atm. and i agree with steph the amount of time and effort ALL our team puts in to this sites and it's image is unreal, if you dont like either then, it is not like pheonix is holding a gun to your head to use them, go try another image / team support, and we will see you back here with your tail between your legs, soon!!!

Sorry to say Iam still getting a green screen. So I wait for a while with a straight 2.1 install as everything is working without it.

if the new online update doesnt work then you will have to backup settings, reflash and then do online updates as it is working for most others who had the problem

Still green screen, only plug-in is dvb nova-t, crashlog included.

Sorry.. this not the case.. i have just reflashed and still getting the green screen loop..

Any other fixes for this.. as this fix is not working for me..

Just to add I simply loaded 2.1 via usb and then only changed the screen to 1080i before using the online update, nothing else. What I get is a high res screen followed by a low res screen and then a green screen. Then just loops till I switch off. Thanks for your time.
