[VU+ Duo2] VU+ Duo 2 warning, skin is missing element . box isn't starting

I carried out an auto channel search and after it finished it just sits at the blackhole image!

i have tried reflashing, but its not having it, just sits there.
it comes up with an error message after about a minute or so which i have attached as a photo.

Is the flash memory full? how can i empty it if i can't access the STB from the remote control and the TV, can i do this via filezilla?

when i had a look at the STB via filezilla i clicked on HDD and it came up with an error so i have unplugged that and tried a re flash, still nothing.

what do i do next?

i hope i have been clear with what is probably an end user error!

Your receiver is saying it's flash memory is full.

I don't think you have flashed it succesfully. You can try and delete some of the skins you don't use.

I thought that was the case, but, how do i delete them if i can't access the box via the remote control, can i do this with ftp?
if so, how and where are they so they can be deleted?

You can do so by FTP. skins will be in /usr/share/enigma2

You may also have an overgrown EPG.dat, Stop enigma2 with "init 4" comamnd using Putty, then delete it. It will be in /etc/enigma2.

if you do a clean usb flash with vix normally your flash should be clean.

I have looked in the files and there is loads of them in etc/enigma2, its knowing which one to get rid of.
also with the skins, its a case of which ones......

i have tried eleven unsuccessful re flashes now, getting a little bit perplexed to be fair!

i hate not having the know how to fix this!

So, maybe its a temp fix for now, but its on and working!

I deleted all the languages that i don't use to free up the flash!
I ran FTP client on PC (FileZilla) and deleted unused languages in flash: /usr/share/enigma2/po/xx/ language folders except of "en" and "it" and the "xx" language. Each deleted language freed up about 200 kB of flash.

Got the gen from another forum and it worked!!!

When you say you've been unsuccessful flashing. How far did you get? Have you followed the flashing guides in the quick support menu above?

200kb is absolutely nothing. You are best using the Image Manager facility to flash with the latest image and I advise to set everything up as new, No Restores!!

200kb per language times that by 15 and thats a fair bit!

I tried to refresh because it wasn't working, it didn't flash, just rebooted as normal but it got as far as the spinning wheel and then froze.

So i will now do a full reflash to clear it correctly.........I hope!

It isn't much at all!! The Vu+ Duo2has 1GB Flash and 15x 200kb comes to a grand total of 3.0mb. 1tb = 1,000,000mb, so trust me 3mb is absolutely nothing for the Vu+ Duo2. You must have other issues too, but hopefully a fresh flash will sort it. Also storing epg data to your flash is a no go.
