As Canthackit say..

Make sure to use the 153 image.. I could not get the updates to work either with the 133..

You could also do the updates via telnet.. That also worked for me..

In Telnet Type :

opkg update

Then press enter..

Then type :

opkg upgrade

Then press enter..

Wait for untill updates are finished..

Then type :

shutdown -r now

Then press enter..

This always worked for me..

Hope this helps

glad thats working for you matey now

try it who ever is having issues it usually works a treat

a better way to do the update procedure is to type opkg update && opkg upgrade this will run both commands back to back so ne need to wait between the two, then once done issue the shutdown -r now command.

also build 153 was the first build with the linux 3.1.1 kernel so if you try to update from a earlier build it will not work as a fresh flash is needed to run the 3.1.1 kernel images.

opkg update && opkg upgrade is a more quicker way to do it yes##reason why i dont use it and this will give people a mind to make as to what to use is

when performing an opkg update it checks and downloads the repo location and if tehre is an error there then opkg upgrade wil break the image

so i liek to look at opkg update make sure that is all correct and no errors and from there i will perform opkg upgrade

so which ever you guys use they both work and just make sure during the process you see no errors or this will break the image

are 153 and 133 just updates to 2.3.0? what are these updates needed for? ,is somthing not working as it should or is there extra fetures within these updates? wish id have know this a month ago the amount of times ive reflashed is silly.i was starting to give up.i was using black hole but although great to use it has problems crashing and wasnt doing what it says on the tin.hope its not going to be the same experience with vix.is it essential to do these updates please explain
thanks regardless..

In my opinion.. Its not necessary to do the updates.. ( Others will disagree.. )

I had 5 duo`s and a solo all running on 2.3 perfectly well with no issues at all with no updates done..

I just wanted to do the updates to see if the duo`s and solo performed any better..

For me.. They did not.. I flashed 2.3 again.. and just left them and did not do any more updates..

Me personally.. I wont be doing any more updates until there is a new Vix release.. which has to be flashed.. and not updated..
