VU+Duo4KSE Crash - Plus some history

:D Succinctly put!
Dr Goo goo goo jooble also just confirmed that the KODI enigma2 PVR client uses OpenWebIf to access my box, so point taken. I've recently, also on advice from Dr Goog, enabled transcoding on the vu+ to reduce KODI wifi bandwidth usage, so that is probably not helping vu+ itself to cope either. But to go back to a previous point, my KODIs are off most of the time. My TV has just died, but when that is sorted I'll try some experiments to pipoint the problem a bit more. Thanks for the steer.

As a matter of interest, is my VU+ getting a bit past it after almost 5 years? Should I be considering its retirement/replacement with something beefier? My original aim when adopting enigma2 was
a) to combine satellite and terrestrial reception/recording/etc via a common UI and
b) to act as a wifi-based distribution system to various rooms without rewiring my house.

Vu+ Duo4kse is a top of the range box. No idea what you could replace that with that is superior, probably nothing.

Thanks @Huevos . Great (if a bit surprising) to see my VU+ is still the bees knees!

So once I've replaced my TV I'll disconnect all KODIs (as @twol suggested recently too) to see if the spinner returns. If it doesn't, as you predict, I'll be looking for advice on tuning KODIs in a separate thread...

Thanks all

It's been a while!

New TV arrived last week (long story) and my unicable suddenly stopped working!
After much trial and error it seemed the voltage reaching the LNB might be low (<18V). It seems the LNB unicable and standard outputs share internal circuitry,
so I tried configuring the second vu+ sat port to access a spare standard port on the LNB while vu+ port 1 was setup for unicable virtual ports. Unicable started working!

Back to the KODI issues
I'm now pretty sure the instabilities were caused by KODI and/or my WiFi setup. Removing all KODI connections eliminated endless spinners as @Huevos implied back in July!
After much faffing and with help from Gemini AI I tried a KODI alternative: Dream Player TV.
Very easy setup. £6 for a licence for all the Firesticks (including a very old one) on my network and everything works perfectly. Nice UI. No more WiFi-driven player failures and also my Vu+ spinner problem/crashing seems to have gone. There is a new KODI beta out there, but I think for me the KODI decades of my life are over.
