So I loaded up your bouquets.
Normally you would hit up arrow and then blue button. In your case when you hit this strange situation, just hit blue button which should take you to your strange bouquets ( Freesat favourites & All channels)

Thanks. I've been following the instructions in #18 and After multiple tries I seem to have beaten the box into submission and am seeing the behaviour you describe. Pressing EPG takes me to the Grid EPG from where I am able to set timers.

It would seem that in not finding detailed instructions on how to create bouquets (that's an observation on my failure, not a criticism) I had led myself down a rabbit hole through trial and error.

Please stop referring to bouquets/groups of channels as EPG. It adds confusion.

You had this issue last year if I remember correctly. Stay off the EPG in the first instance. With no menus showing, press up (next to ok) or the TV button. This will invoke the channel selection code.

Your "scanning" method is unorthodox. If you are going to scan using Enigma2 (twice) and not using ABM bouquets, why are you using ABM? There has always been an issue with ABM in that it does not reload services after it scans. You have to reload them by switching between bouquets. Depending on another plugin to reload was rejected.

May I suggest that you use ABM for Sky UK and Freesat, but do not create any bouquets. Do not perform an E2 scan. Just restart your receiver after ABM completes then import the lamedb and your bouquet then edit your bouquets use DBedit.

I will have a look at your bouquets later.

The -- before the name is meant to be the channel number in the order that E2 has them. So it is getting confused somewhere

One set of your uploads has ABM bouquets, the other two do not. which are you using? I have loaded one of them, and it is fine for me. Maybe it is how you are transferring them that is the issue? In ABM, are you adding the provider name to bouquet? If you don't, the bouquet will show up as "All channels". I would recommend you enable the provider name. And also change the title of your own bouquet to something not mentioning "Freesat", perhaps " Wife's list"

You have 15 channels in that personalised bouquet called "Freesat favourites". You can either use a channel editor like you are using, Using OWIF bouquet editor, use the remote. I would recommend you use a custom/favourites file in ABM to create them for you with latest transponder details.

I note that ABM is providing your with non-28.2 providers, which means that you have configured your tuners to have other satellites. Do you have other satellites on your physical hardware setup? Your lamedb only has 28.2 services.

The bouquets come from different times. The latest, 'bouquets_backup_2024_11_18.zip', is the one I finally created following your instructions.

I've not added the provider name as I didn't appreciate it might be useful and, as it was set to 'No', I thought it best to leave it there. I can add it. 'Freesat favourites' is the only bouquet on the box but I can change the name.

I created 'bouquets_backup_2024_11_18.zip' in dreamboxEdit by using it to download the files from the box, creating the new 'Freesat favourites' bouquet and then dragging the various channels into it before using the app to upload to the box. Is that acceptable please?

As an aside, should I set ABM to schedule automatic scans?

I only have 28.2 services from a 'GT-Sat GT-S1DCSS24 SCR/dCSS Single Cable Unicable II LNB SCR24 with 1x Legacy Outputs' LNB which feeds into two physical 'Twin Satellite
DVB-S/S2/S2X FBC Tuners'. Tuners B, C, D, E, F, G and H in slot 1 are all 'Connected to Tuner A' and tuners J to P are all 'Connected to Tuner I'. Where the multiple references to 19.2E and 28.2E have appeared from is a mystery but they do seem to have increased during my work on the box today and I can't remove them. Any manual scans I have done have used the 'Single satellite' option or a single transponder when a channel has moved transponder and a scan hasn't picked it up. The references to 19.2E have been there almost since I bought the box so probably another 'unorthodox' intervention of mine.

With just the one bouquet I wanted to have using the box as simple as possible for the technophobe in the house, though I've realised today that I really should have a much more expansive one to enable some flexibility if something of interest crops up. I'll wait until today's exploits have settled!

Here is a mix fie for you. Extract and place in /etc/enigma2/AutoBouquetsMaker/custom then run ABM. From your previous log, your wife's name start with D, so that is what I have used for the section/bouquet.

Here is your file. Stop E2 with an "init 4" command, transfer the file, restart with "init 3"

Note:
You don't need to create an image backup when performing software update. A settings backup is fine for restoring if things go pear shaped.

You have enabled the OpenTV EPG zapper. I dont think you have the channel in any bouquet. We discussed this before. Being in lamedb is not the same as being in a bouquet. When your receiver zaps to that channel, it isn't in a bouquet, so probably why you end up in the all services list. Please create a bouquet with the IEPG channel. Use your remote to create the bouquet and add it. Select it from the 28.2 orbital or All list. I dont know how to add it to your custom mix file.

Many thanks for the file and apologies for the delay in getting back to you but getting access to the box has been problematic with time available, the box recording and Management viewing!

However, I've followed your instructions and the file is now installed. It's taken a couple of goes as 192 reappeared on first installation and I had to go through it and remove all of the references. You mentioned Open TV but that was only there as, I think, it was referenced as a default setting so I have removed it and the spurious 192 references have not reappeared. Am I correct in making the link?

No, there is no linkage between enabling the OpenTV EPG zapper and tuner configuration being incorrect.

I would once again urge you to ensure the iepg channel is in a bouquet. Either it's own one or an existing one. It will avoid the problem of not finding a bouquet.

Fixed with a separate bouquet! These boxes offer a huge learning curve.
