Sure , I've already done that , using different USB sticks as well as means of download ,, still the same problem ,, any solutions to check the installed bootloader ?
You could try another image see if that fixes the problem.
Are you getting the little linux icons when the box boots???
You can also do a debug via the serial port using a program like putty

no the linux icon doesn't show up ,, just smart linux tv ,,, as a video signal in the middle of screen ,,

could you provide me with some instruction how to use firmware loader using rs232 ,,,

I tried latest Dream-UK ,,, Pli ,,, having the same problem ,,, how can I reflash the bootloader in a safe way via rs232 ?

Looks to me like you have corrupted the boot sector for the box.
You cant try this unplug the box for at least 30 seconds then try again.
All of these boxes have a boot sector recovery procedure via the serial interface you will need to contact the manufacturer of this box and ask for it as a last resort.
Unfortunately you cant flash the box via the serial port.
Also was the box working correctly before you did the boot firmware upgrade???

Thanks for the response,,

Yep , the box was working perfectly not just bootloader ET9000 but also vix 2.21 ,,, so all these happened after the upgrade ,,

How's the procedure of boot sector recovery ? have you had any boot-recovery experience on MIPS-family boxes ?

Thank you for the help ,,,

Yes but only on the Vu+Duo.
Looks like somehow it got stuffed when you loaded the bootloader upgrade on the box.
If the box is still under warranty I would send it back for repair as I dont know the recovery procedure for this box.

Hi, i've flashed vix 2.3 and try to install cccam and driver for USB dtt avermedia a867 but nothing works.. In softcam manager don't see cccam and USB don't power led on

you need to use the cams from this archive for ViX.

Code:
http://www.4shared.com/dir/wnyHV50A/VIX_CAMS.html

as for the usb stick i dont use one my self but as soon as some one who does see's this thread they will no doubt help you out.

for cccam, just google this enigma2-plugin-cams-cccam.2.2.1_1.0-r0_mipsel.ipk.
for USB dtt avermedia a867, go to menu, setup, vix, packet manager and try to find appropriate drivers ( find your model usb)
follow this step:
1. disconnect usb dvbt
2. find and install drivers
3. plugin usb dvbt
4. restart box ( not enigma!)

Sweet ,,,,,,,,

Besides you ,, any other Prof. or ViX developers can possibly assist me recovering Boot-Section of my ET9000 ?

Your response will be highly appreciated ,

Thanks for solution. I have another question. There is a problem with add timer in this and previous imabes. Timer just does not work. When installing Hd glass 16 skin, the problem does not exist. But I like the standard skin. Do you have any advice on this issue.

Thank you.

How are you doing it. i have over a dozen autotimers set up and they work flawlessly.

Do you have the EPG populate?

Since you've said yourself that this is not a ViX dependant issue (you're having the problem on other images also), then it's likely nothing that we can resolve... If it is indeed a boot loader problem, then it's likely you will have to contact Xtrend (or your supplier, who will in turn contact Xtrend) to resolve this...

As stated previously though, you could try doing an rs232 bootlog in putty, which will help you with trying to (a) get us to help you resolve it (b) get Xtrend to help you solve it...

Mates,,, Anyone have the same experience ? can you technically assist me please ?
I had the same problem as you. I flashed the bootloader, then the new image (which is great btw, just haven't had the time or opportunity to mess with the box until now), I scanned for channels, updated the image and then took a complete backup image and rebooted the box. Then it just hung and wouldn't boot anything.
I then reflashed with the new backup image of 2.3 build 124 with channels already scanned and then prepared myself for having to reflash a working image every time the box was shut off (which I rarely do anyway), but after having tweaked settings and installed my favourite plugins I was able to succesfully reboot the box and start it after a complete shutdown. Everything seems to be working fine now.

So my question to you is, have you tried flashing the new image, then make a backup image and reflash with that backup image instead? I have no explanation for why it worked for me, but I guess it is worth a shot for you.

Hi flashed Image and boot loader no problem. Can I ask where do I setup my hard disk again, it picks up USB no problem but not my internal drive. Are all my recording gone on hard disk. I flashed straight and restored no settings or auto timers .

Ps very fast image thanks for doing great job..:p

Well ,, Thanks for the help,,

I talked to ClarkeTech Tech-Manager & was provided with the solution ,,, I downgraded the bootloader to ET9000 and flash an Egami-1.3 for the test,

But as I saw how well the Vix-2.3 was workin ,, still I'm thinking about reflashing 2.3 but I don't have any interest of ET9X00--bootloader , thus can I flash Vix 2.3 with the bootloader of UBIFS dated July-19th which is now installed on my box and workin well ? or I basically need to upgrade again the bootloader to et9x00 to be able to install the ViX 2.3 ?

Thanks Beforehand ,,,

Once I upload the new Bootloader - can I still go back Vix 2.2.1 if I want to.....??
