Hi All, is anyone else experiencing issues when attempting to mount a network drive? Whenever I select the network mount option (within Setup – Network) I receive an enigma2 crash.

If there is a quick fix then I would be very interested. Can supply logs if required :-D
Please make you own thread for this.
And yes: crashlogs are required.

I have just updated to kernel 3.1.1 version 3.0 build 381 from 2.3 204 and I have had to format my usb hdd to ext 4 but now everytime I start the duo the usb hdd which i only use for timeshift fails to mount and get "timeshift not available" it was working perfectly formatted to fat32 in the 2.3 204 image the mount manager shows it as device /dev/sdc1 mount media/hdd when I eventuall get it to mount by rebooting the duo and also while in the mount menu I get a small window showing part of the picture showing in the top right corner where the menu says mount manager

Sorry to say: I can't read this. Not one capital (apart from 'I') or any punctuation in such an extreme long sentence.......

To put it simply 3.0 build 381 fails to mount (a) my internal hdd or (b) my usb hdd. I use the usb hdd for timeshift. It is formated as ext4.: sorry my phone keyboard lacks a comma

What has that to do with my hdd mount problems apperantly my punctuation is more important than helping with the image

While it is not that important to punctuate. it does make our job of reading bug reports a little more difficult especially for the non native English speaking members of the team, such as rob.

First of all, as I said before, it makes reading quite hard.
And secondly: while you make it perfectly clear not be interested in and not taking the time to make a decent posting, you surely can't seriously expect us to take the time to look into your problem

I thought I was including all the important information that you would need

seems 381 is very unstable having complete lockups, only way to recover is on/off,
/can't even telnet to box to init 6
is it possible to restore a backup of a previous vers say 378, tried it via the menu but 381 still comes up under info

Hi,
I think what you tried is a restore of settings and plugins this will not bring you back to build 378. If you want a complete backup you have to go to ViX image backup and make a complete backup. This plugin will generate a complete backup on the chosen destination and together with an USB stick you can go back to this build.

ciao

so the only way to go back to 378 would be via USB stick.

since about 360 I think I have just restored settings & plugins from backups on the HDD, is that adviseable or should I manually put settings etc back in?

Well it's nice to know I'm not the only one with the issue. I've tried r1239, 1260 and r1263 all with the same result.
That coupled with the fact that PVMC is not in the current feeds along with Rob's helpful remark on your own submitted crashlog confirm my own thinking that it was a plugin compatibility issue alright.

I'll recreate the issue this evening with PV debug log set to highnand submit the PV log and the VIX crash log to Erik and the guys over at PVMC and hopefully they can recompile for VIX3.o/OpenPLI3.0.
I'll drop a post here when I hear anything back.

For those of us running VIX, or any OE3.0+ images who also use Project Valerie(Or at least did until the crashes got too much!!!)
There is a fix/workaround that eliminates the crash at file playback end :D
Its just a matter of changing a menu setting in the image itself rather than in PVMC.
These settings can be modified in Vix 3.0 (setup->system ->recording and filelist)
And then change the option "what to do at end of videofile playback" to "ask user" instead of the default setting "return to filelist"
This way Enigma does not crash at the end of playback.

I can confirm this is working on Vix3.0.339 with PVMC build 1266oe20.
Hope this is of some help to some folks on here.
As I was playing around with a modified .py file with only intermittent luck trying to get it to work before I found this.

A pity you didn't ask for a bit of help then; now you're on a very old image, missing all the new stuff and bugfixes.

Every time I bring my duo out of deep standby it loses the file directories for the hard drives , sometimes when I press the file button it is in the usb hdd directory, and sometimes it is in the usb memory stick directory. This makes it appear that the drives are not mounted. I have to press the yellow button for location and choose the internal hdd to see my media files
I am using the 3.0 381 image

How do you make your box go into deep sleep?

power button /standby / restart menu Deep standby I have sent the debug logs for today
I have just gone through your log. It seems you are using Cross-EPG; for the DUO it might be better to use a swap-file then.

If that doesn't help, you might delete the automounts.xml (first 'init 4', then delete, then 'init 6'). When tho box is up remount the HDD if needed via the mountmanager.

If that doesn't help either, I would re-flash the box, and not use a settings restore.
