[VU+ Duo] New ViX Team VU+ Duo OE3.0 Discussion

Hello WOS Team,

I am having a problem with my Vu+ Duo box with the latest ViX 3.0 Image. I put the box on standby at the end of the night and the next morning the box is on without any interference? Is there a particular setting in the box I need to do?

Lo there,

Have version 446 and can't get online update to work via the box. (puts it into background search)
So downloaded the latest version via the feeds (v539) which is now on hdd directory.

Can't seem to load this via the menus (no update option available in the images menu - just 'delete')
Have no spare pen drive to do this upgrade via pendrive (i.e. vuplus directory).
init 4 && opkg update && opkg upgrade && init 6 throws an error.

Is there a way to manually upgrade via telnet session if I know the path to the downloaded zip file??

There is no way to load a image via the HDD or while the box is running. it must be flashed via a USB pen drive, and you can not use the image manager to restore a image either.

OK fair enough,

But the OTA option, when it does not give you the background "error", must load it from somewhere.
As will be the case for the "init 4 && opkg update && opkg upgrade && init 6" workaround.
So is this via Flash??

Updating is something completely different from flashing (same as on your computer).

Sorry, what I meant was loading (the upload) into flash memory - not flashing.

Anyway - no worries, used the pendrive I had for the epg for the latest build. All updated now.

And if you had read post 1 of this thread you would have seen you cannot restore settings from 2.4. As a matter of course when moving from one release to another it is always worth reading the release notice.

Just updated from build 521 to latest build (544).. now i get only 1 radio channel after a scan with autobouquets. (996 channel line up)
Tried fresh flashing via usb with all builds since 521,using restore settings and doing settings from fresh with remote,still get no radio channels.
Flashing with build 521 gives me all the radio channels..
Tried working it out myself before posting here

Yesterday en today i had an enigma2 crash. It happens when i press stop when i was viewing a recorded program. I am recording to an synology NAS wich has a mounted NFS directory to my vu+ duo. I am using the latest VIX build. Here is the crashlog. Can someone look at it and see what is going wrong? Thanks in advance

You're on build 545, the latest one is now 552. I suggest to update, as we did have a fix in this area.

Hi Guys

First of all best wishes to everybody on the ViX Team !!

After updating to version 3 build 552 I noticed that the option Sleep Timer in the Standby/Restart menu is gone and I cannot find is elsewhere....

It's possible that this function is also missing in some earlier builds because we don't use this option every day and I do the updates as soon as they are available.

Hi, I am not sure whether this is a Vix question so apologies if in wrong place.
I have recently setup a VU+ Duo for a pal of mine which is build 521 using crossepg & autobouquetmaker. Everything seems to be fine as yet apart from the channel +/- buttons which are showing strange behaviour. The button settings are correct and set to just change channels and if I go through setup procedure they work for a time but then mysteriously change and you cant use them at all and when you try you get the no function symbol at the top right corner of the screen. Have you come accross this before? My own VU+ Duo works fine and his is a brand new box from sponsors.

Can you please disable HDMI-CEC and see if that makes any difference?

When i view the channel the EPG info comes up in the info bar no problems yet when i go back to the channel list is gone again. Any ideas guys?

Maybe it's an idea to tell us where you get your EPG from (EIT/Cross/XMLTV/???)?

Sorry i am using cross epg with opentv set to astra2 on 28.2 setting. Is this the best option or should i use Rytec?
