I've sent notes to the display, telling my brother to stop watching porn & switching to an adult channel before my mother enters the room...
from my phone, easily done & not through any version of CCcam.

easier to do on the same network, just use the web interface, or on your android phone, use dreamdroid.
bound to be lots of apps that do the same if you're using an iphone.

thanks...i use iphone will search for app to do that but any suggestion for iphone app will be welcomed. actually using the app will be a topic for another day.

Talking to friend using 2.3.0 not on this forum, said soemone was changing his channels remotely plus left a note on display to contact if he required server management. He quickly re-flashed his duo and downgraded to 2.0.11. How far this is true I don't know.

Well, do go on spreading hoaxes like that, and the enthusiasm of the CCcam-team will be gone forever

Well I do not see why sharing a claim will dampen anyone's enthusiasm. This I think will rather galvanise it to improve and block any holes if there's any. Even FBI system gets hacked and that's not done by aliens! :fart2:

If you would provide a plugin and encounter numerous hoaxes spread all over the internet about it being unsafe, would that not diminish your enthusiasm in developing it?

people who encounter these problems are the ones using it not for the right reasons,

handing out there details left,right and center with default passwords on the box, nothing to do with "hacking"!!! with these details you can make messages come up, change channels bla bla bla

Nope, that doesn't work that way; fighting hoaxes (that are only there for one reason) is rather impossible. And how could CCcam be made any stronger?

No one should be claiming moral high ground cos that's plain hypocrisy.
Shouting down every concerns only make everyone vulnerable. Even developers are aware of the so called 'hoaxes' hence they keep developing. I would rather share an issue than bottle it up.:thumbsup:
