[ViX_Misc] OE-Alliance OnDemand player official support and discussion thread.

Hi
I was wondering if someone can help me.
When I get to the Menu> Plugins> ( green to download ) section I get the following error message:
'Sorry feeds seem to be in an unstable state, if you wish to use them please enable 'Allow Unstable updates' in online update setup.

The only problem is, I have been to find "Allow unstable updates" but online update setup does not appear in my settings menu?

I have also tried to update the VIX image software as I am currently using (openvix-3.0.695-vusolo_usb.zip) and I know there have been a couple of new release since.

Surely I don't have to wipe my box clean and start again??

I thought this would be a lot more straight forward, to just update to the latest image, and keep all my settings.

Please forgive me!

I am new to all of this!

Thanks

=>setup=>system=>Software update=>Allow unstable (untested) updates = yes

You are correct in stating that there is no 'online update' listed in the setup:)

Great thanks!
Now I get some "collected error" messages which are about not being able to allocate memory or unpack the files?
Can you help with this part?

Thanks

My On Demand seems to have stopped working, apart from 3player and ABC iview.
When trying to play BBC iplayer my VU + uno crashes.
Started today

We would need to see those crash logs.

Hi, so I got it all working. I basically reinstalled the latest VIX image and all seems to be ok...
... however it only seems to work on Low/Standard definition.

When I try to move to HD or a Higher quality, I get nothing. I get to choose the programme and press play but the screen is just black?

I am sure I can cope in SD but It would be good to know if this is something I am doing or is it just the fact it still needs working on?
Thanks!

OnDemand not working July 20th

Both ET4x00 and ET9X00 running VIX 665/666 (not latest release) OnDemand Plugin causing crash today - was working in last few days
Crash Logs attached

BBC iPlayer causes crash
ITV and RTE show message "Sorry, unable to find playable stream"
3Player seems to work

We cant provide fixes for such old images, so try the latest one and see if the problem is still present there or not.

@Phoenix
Don't believe its an image issue.......nothing to indicate that, only thing that COULD have changed is the streams themselves (like last time).
Do appreciate there will be no fixes for older images, so will wait and see if there any other reports of issues before upgrading.
Anyway, weather is too good to be looking at code, so just thought I would report my findings for the time being.

Think yourself lucky! I've never been able to get itv player to work lol

Still waiting for a fix won't play files past 1 minute 10 seconds in any build for me using a venton receiver

To be honest mate the code may as well be in ancient Sumerian for all the sense it makes to me, but with the image and backup managers you could backup your existing setup, flash a new image, test then restore your backup all in less than 15 minutes, then you would know for sure if its still a issue in later builds.

Okay, did a quick load of 701 onto my ET9x00.
Did no settings restore just configured network and logs, and then downloaded OnDemand plugin and rebooted.
Fired up ondemand and got the following
BBC player causes dump.
ITV player gets no stream to display - debug shows 'error getting url'
RTE player also gets no stream but has parse error with time format!

Crashlog and debug logfiles attached

They look similar to those generated on version 666

Seems to be the same as mine. Running latest VIX image for Uno.
Will try lower definition.
Tunlr working on my laptop.

Seems to be lots of issues with most of the players ATM..

iPlayer, ITV, RTE and parts of OUG and TV3.

I don't have much time recently but I will take a look at them when I do!!

Thanks mac. It's a full time job. For the iplayer and ITV once I updated the tunlr IP they worked fine.

Can you explain how to update tunlr IP .
I assume you need to telnet to the box and alter the address in the On demand file using a file editor.

I used gedit to edit the CommonModules.py file located at /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extesnions/OnDemand/CommonModules.py and changed line 408 with the tunlr address to the latest from the tunlr website, then restarted enigma2.

I don't have commonmodules.py (or any .py file) at that location - just the compiled .pyo files...

Hi,
install ondemand-src and you should get the source (.py).

ciao
