[ViX_Misc] OE-Alliance OnDemand player official support and discussion thread.

Hi I keep getting this error "Programme not available on PS3 4OD when selecting from ondemand. I have a vu+duo on image 3.0.720. I am in the uk. I have unistalled ONDEMAND and then installed the latest one in the feeds

The 4OD plugin has been broken for a good few weeks due to changes CH4 made to the way they stream content, this is going to be exceptionally hard to fix and as a result has been removed from the newest versions of the plugin until such a time as or if it is fixed.

If you get a chance again can you test this again then?
1) Restored old VIX backup - build 587 from around end January - drivers are dated 2013-01-25
2) installed On Demand from plugins list - FF/Rewind works fine for the BBC iPlayer streams
3) updated drivers to latest version 20130819 - looks like they were just released today.
4) rebooted - FF/Rewind still works fine.
5) restored current backup (build 721) - updated drivers to 20130819
6) rebooted - FF/Rewind not working

so it appears to be a problem in the image - the same version of OnDemand and drivers work fine in an old image but not in the current one.

I've also noticed that over the past 6 months the box's performance as a media player has considerably worsened - .mkv files which play OK on older versions (e.g. build 587)now appear to be corrupted. I wonder are these issues connected?

I get a "non uk and no limelight" message.

When you are outside the uk only limelight streams work but not all programmes supply the limelight stream. Sometimes if you try a few times it will eventually return a limelight stream that you can play!

It all work well in the past year.

This may be so but it's nothing we have control over or anything we can fix! If the BBC servers don't supply a limelight stream for whatever reason then when you are outside the UK nothing can be done..

We have made absolutely no changes in this area nor can we to solve any issues!

Hi I have a a question about downloading a feed item from Ondemand?

I forgot to set my timer lastnight, and I can still catch the program on "OnDemand" however I see no way to download it.

I was thinking of running something like WireShark and grabbing the network traffic, but I'm sure there must be a easier option?, so my question is this feature been implemented (and it is hidden?) or has anyone worked out yet how to do this?

Thanks.

For legal reasons we wont be implementing any download features within the OnDemand plugin only streaming.

Just to get back to this - my Vu Duo+ finally failed and I've treated myself to a GigaBlue Quad - great little machine! The problem I was having with On Demand on the Duo (stops playing after pause, FF or Rewind) is still happening on the Quad - and it is happening with all streams except for 3TV (i.e. BBC, ITV, RTE). Is this just the way this plugin works now?

I have a Duo2 and the same is happening to me (I've only really checked on BBC feed) but for me it happens.

PS running latest firmware ,drivers etc.

Yes, I'm afraid that this issue is back again and the issue has been raised. It will hopefully get fixed in the near future..

I am no longer able to access BBC or ITV using .co.uk with tunlr. This is through my VU Uno and my Laptop. Have changed the DNS from Tunlr on my laptop I can access both websites but get the message that I'm outside the UK which is to be expected.
The Tunlr website informs me that it is activated for my laptop, so either my ISP is blocking me from these domains or ITV, BBC are blocking tunlr or something else. Any ideas.

I think that TUNLR is the problem. There is a post on the tunlr forum regarding no access to the iplayer

Just to update on TUNLR,
you now have to sign up to them (gatekeeper2) and the account is now linked to your individual IP
the free account only last for 30 days now after this you have to renew
and if your personnal IP changes in this time you have to login to update it before it will work again

Thanks to saintomer1866 for info

Bad news for us I'm afraid..

I wonder if I would be able to build in log in details to our TUNLR call, it would need new configuration options and users would need to create an account obviously!!

I think the 1channel plugin uses login details, which the user has to manually change for one of the hosting sites.

If I get some time over the coming days I will try and take a look and see if anything is possible!

The Current standalone 1Channel plugin doesn't support what your suggesting, mrdude has said that the standalone plugin is going to get a re write, a separate file could be loaded with the primewire redirect url - this could be edited from within the box itself

Maybe 1Channel plugin inside TSmedia already has the a fore mentioned as i don't use it i cannot confirm.
