[TM-2T] Mounting Harddrive

Morning all

I'm hoping someone can please help me here, I have recently brought a TM-2t-Nano which was pre-installed with the new 4d image,

All is great and working well in the sense of viewing channels. However I decided to buy the box without an internal harddrive as I had a 2T/B hard drive I could plug in as an external. The Image never came with TS Panel and I was advised to mount the hard drive this would be needed.

I downloaded the latest version of TS Panel and found the option to "Format and Mount", I have formatted in all combinations, IE: 1 partition, 2 and so on up to four, Tried all the format options IE : FAT, NTFS and the other two options which name escapes me at the moment.

Everytime I format and then try to mount it asks me to re-boot, When I do I still can't see the hard drive, I have tried everything that is possible, Thinking I may have a faulty drive I tried a USB PEN and I get the same issue.

Can someone please help me as this is driving me crazy now. I was told I didn't need to do anything but just plug it in and it would set up itself which clearly not the case on this box.

I would advise to get rid of TSpanel, horrible plugin. Dunno about the 4d image as I use the best, which is ViX. ViX uses Ext4 file format dunno if 4d is the same?

Thanks Andy for your quick reply, Yes I agree that VIX image does seem to be the one to go for, To be fair mate I would love to know how to upgrade to that Image but unsure and dont want to mess the box up at the moment. I'm hoping someone will be along shortly who has ran into this issue on the same box / S/Ware who can advise though

I would do as Andy sugests and get rid of TSpanel it is known to overwrite critical files so that could be the reason that your hard drive is not being recognised

Logically I agree, However without TS Panel how do I mount the hard drive ? There doesnt seem to be any other options within the image which will allow you to format and mount, Hence why I downloaded TSpanel in the first place?

Yes the initialisation option. It will wipe the HDD

You would be better off flashing the box now though as TS Panel is known to cause issues on PLI based images, of which the 4d image is one.

Ok, I am using a Technomate 2t NANO and need a good image and instructions (step by step) if anyone knows where there are any?

Also, I am using this box as "XXXsharXXX" on 28.2 E - Don't know if that makes a difference for the option to start the "C*M"

Personally, I'd use ViX.
Images & flashing guides can be found on http://openvix.co.uk
But, try all the images you want & stick with the one you prefer.
