Installed a new skin now my solo2 is dead.

Sorry for jumping in on this thread and I know I have a different receiver but i am in the exact same position. Updated from 120 to 121 by online update this morning, changed skin afterwards and then asked to reboot. I chose yes and now nothing. I have tried 3 different USB stick and nothing, stuck on reboot screen, I am pulling my hair out here guys, this is the only method of watching TV in my front room and kids/wife not happy with me, please help..

you really should post this in a thread of your own as its for a different receiver and looks to me to be a different issue to the OP's, the only thing I can think that has changed in the image between builds 120 and 121 for the Vu+ hardware are the drivers as released by Vu+.

Ok I have moved your post out of the one for the GB Quad +.

Reading your post it seems the update was successful so it should not be a issue with updated drivers, your issue only seemed to happen after installing the new skin.

so which skin was it, was it downloaded via the feeds or installed manually ?.
You say your receiver is now stuck on the reboot screen ?, do you still have FTP and Telnet access ?.
Do you even get a prompt when the receiver detects a new USB stick and image ?.

Sorry about hijacking anther thread, I should no better.. Panic over, just bought another USB and all is well again, nearly had to change pants though lol..

I installed nou hd weather from feeds after updating to 121 and then the issue happened, not sure if this is connected but got to say massively relieved that my precious solo2 has come back to life.

If a skin ever stops the image from booting fully, you can usually ftp in, delete the skin & on next restart, the default skin is used again.

Glad you managed to get it sorted mate :thumbsup: You can never have enough USB Memory sticks I have about 25 ranging from 4gig to 64gig and 10 between 4/8gig just for flashing my receivers as you never know when one will let you down

Personally I dont use the weather options in any skin, I find them kind of pointless if i'm being honest.

Yeah would hate to be living in your neck of the woods phoenix at this time of the year. I liked the weather options though, always very accurate. This guy makes such great skins, gone onto the hd black FH2 now and really like it.
