You don't need the feeds to use the receiver, receiver can still be re-flashed and used You're more than welcome to use another teams image if you're not happy

all im asking is to be able to update the software for once without having problems im sure thats what you aim to do

couch flashing not working for image list is empty but when apollo 150 is flashed normally images list comes back. think there is a change in feeds.

you can manually FTP the image to /media/hdd/imagebackups/ then use the couch flash method to flash the receiver.

hope the 151 works then for the solo2 as cant update image and got timer issues saying corrupt ive not long ago had to re flash my box and what a pain in the backiside that is thought these boxes were the best thing ever and got told the vix team image is the best so far neither are true

You dont have to have active feeds to reflash the receiver and any one who owns or operates a enigma2 based receiver should have a basic working knowledge of the receiver enough to be able to perform a reflash and fresh setup when required, if you can't do that without moaning about it you'r in the wrong hobby and really should consider selling your receiver in favor of a plug and play style box from the likes of sky uk.

Thanks for the heads up on the solo2 build. Might as well wait for a couple of days for 151 as 147 is running fine for now.

sorry pheonix dont see it as a hobby im sure WOS using your quote wouldnt sell many of there boxes my reply to this thread was not meant as an insult reflashing the box now and again ive no problem with that but not everytime theres an update

that was almost what i have done:thumbsupputting the zipped image into "imagebackups" file of the flash and using it for couch flashing)

It is not every time there is an update. It is just one box affected by a few missing files out of all the boxes supported. You need to make a full image backup every so often so you've got a fallback if an update fails.

This affects all solo 2 recievers not only you. Huevos is saying if the update fails or any other problem occurs you can restore your full image backup until the problem has been fixed.

As always thanks to you guys for all the efforts - to be honest I have noticed a growing number of unnecessary disgruntled users (Sundtek tuner yesterday) - I don't understand as you guys do all this work for the sheer buzz - the least you deserve is good manners and recognition.

Anyway, I think the problem is a little like the earlier update to v138 issue see here. I did the couch flash yesterday evening - feeds were showing stable on Rossi's "Blue" HD skin, so I went ahead. No problem until the restore of v150 to my saved v147 settings + plugins. When the plugin restore routine started I got feeds were "down" message. As noted by another user - if you try to download plugins in v147 with Solo 2 you get a blank screen!

You are thinking no big deal, problem is though as with the earlier link above, you get the ViX spinner, and ViX won't move past the splash screen, I guess because a plugin is missing for which settings were restored?

To recover I had to ftp off my v147 backup image, and am waiting to see best advice - maybe v151 as stated. May just have to do a rebuild from scratch if the issue remains?

Then you are missing out on all the enhancements in the image such as SNP picons, Full 1920x1080 HD Skins, XBMC and so many others that it would take hours to list, but thats your choice.

Would it not be possible for essential plugins such as tuner and wifi drivers to be available for seperate download for instances when the feeds are down?

Thinking about updating my Solo2 from 147 to the latest (150 I think) I have tried the feeds, but I get the "Feeds are down" message should I just wait until the feeds are fixed or download the latest image and put it in "imagebackups" on the Solo2 HD
and flash from there ?

If you look on the website or even when you try updating online it says 'feed status Updating' so a new build is in the process of being built, so just be patient.

Look on the forum or openvix.co.uk and see the status icon. it's currently amber which means the feeds are currently being updated or uploaded.

Depends which screen you are in. 'Feed status Updating' is in "Software Update". And "Feeds down for maintenance" is in the feeds download screen.
