[VU+ Solo2] Real solo 2 HW ERROR after update

Have to agree does sound like a clone with the hardware error

Have you tried any new images from other providers on box


Also have you googled the guide on how to spot a clone what to look for

Their is a guide online that has detailed pics right down to the writing on the and the back of it etc on how to spot ! , have a look


Also have you checked inside to make sure everything is seated firmly and the hard disk ain't loose or the receiver card plugin isn't loose ?

Thats not the official Vu+ forum, there is not one. Thats just the VTI Image teams forum, and I still stand by my earlier comment that you have a clone after reading your thread there as it will not load any image with the newer drivers.

No fix as the 'HW Error' only relates to clone receivers, and unfortunately we don't support clones here!! Sorry.

Not correct: it happens quite often to my original Solo2 as well, but only when having been 'couch flashed'.
Fixing it is easy: just cut the power for a couple of seconds and restart the box.

Only on the Solo2, not on any other VU.
First time it happened I thought the box had gone belly up, but now I'm used to it.

My mate has purchased a genuine solo 2 off eBay but getting the same error. Vix hades 10 has been running for a few weeks then the hw error happened, now the only image that will work is blackhole 2.0.7. Can anyone confirm from the pics if this is a genuine receiver or not?

Did the bo come with this image loaded?
And did the HW-error occur after an update? If so, it looks like a clone.

That is a quite certain diagnostic of being a clone....

Sorry, that will be virtually impossible. Clones are getting better and better (in the sense of looking like the real thing).

blackhole 2.0.7. is known to work with clones, also a couple of old vix images. I know many people buying systems of ebay as genuine and once received you can see its a clone. when flashed nothing works. it still amazes me that people buy off ebay (not sure why, maybe cheaper). pay that bit extra and get piece of mind

can you take a picture of the solo2 's front panel, I should be able to tell from there if it a clone

Hmm weird one this, only image it works on is blackhole 2.0.7 but compared to his other original solo 2 there is no difference at all. It came preloaded with hades 10 and happened after a online update
