[VU+ Ultimo] Few questions for a Moderate User

I am wanting to get a dual cable tuner for my Ultimo.

Is there such a thing or will I need 2 separate plug and plays and a dual sky tuner so I don't lose functionality?

I will be using cccam for both Vermin and Sly and wont be discussing anymore about that but didn't know if it hampered or changed the setup.

Want to know a few things..

How easy is it to install and change tuners.. never done it
How easy is it to set up ABM for Cable for West Yorkshire ?
Will I need 2 EPG for the Cable and Sky or will the tuners and cams figure it out?
Does the forum sell any of the tuners I need? Can you get dual cable?
All help pointers, tutorials, tellings off, pointers ... great fully received as I embark on this mammoth task including 60m underground cabling..

I have a Vu+ twin cable tuner I found advertised elsewhere. I have it in a Duo2, so it will work in the Ultimo as well. You can also add a USB tuner, but the twin Vu+ would be the best option, it has a single input and single loop out and shows as 2 tuners in the system. They can be used as Cable or Terrestrial, don't know if one can be designated cable and the other terrestrial.

easy to instal same as pc cards just smaller, ABM works just the same,you just tick the box include virgin in epg set up

EPG works differently. You will have to enable Virgin epg then set something up such as epg refresh which will tune to pvr_epg channel to get your data.

You can use any channel on the same transponder as PVR_EPG.
Virgin EPG is now defaulted to be on on OpenVix images. Best to double check.

really struggling. Had an ex Vermin engineer here, messed about for ages as Id been disconnected allover.

When I scan all the channels are picked up however struggling to get the channels Is SNR signal strength. It is as low as 11%. Is that the vermin cable feed that's low?

SNR 11%
AGC 5%
BER 539

check all cabling aswell. im sure BER should be 0 (its a error rate)

Moved to strongest tap now. His meter and my Vu Ultimo are giving way different readings. He is adamant Ive set it up wrong. I literally shoved it in and that's Its... Its a GENUINE VU+ Hybrid DVB-T2/T/C Tuner Module for VuPlus Uno Ultimo Duo2 New Model. Bought directly from Vu....... Do I need to do the cablescan? Ive tried everything. I keep getting scanning failed on CableScan. It takes ages then fails at the end

Is there something I need to do?

Do you have the correct NetID for your area, the ex-VM technician should know that.
