I can see that the OpenVIX version 4.2.010 is already available to download, but on my OS-MINI+ Plus running 4.2.009 it reports "Nothing to update".

Are the online updates working on the OS-MINI+?

Or try rebooting your receiver and trying software update again.

i had same issue and had to crouch flash from 006 to 010. just make sure you back up beforehand.

Flashing latest image (by by USB or through Image Manager) and restoring settings plugins is a way to avoid the issue. However, we should really fix the issue.

For those who installed the image after the kernel change and still not able to update from 4.2 009 to 4.2 010, please issue the following command and post back the output. Guide in signature if you need it.

Code:
init 4 && opkg update && opkg upgrade && init 6

happy to post but Putty is playing up/ once fixed will post, if I can. network connection error

I've just had to couch flash mine to 010, I commented on this a week or so ago in a separate thread as I too am having this issue with two os mini's, haven't been able to update online to 09 or 010, I've tried the command that Abu posted a few times with no success, I issue the command and the box reboots but doesn't update so there's definitely a problem at vix's end that needs looking into.

managed to work telnet from dcc (putty not playing ball), but getting no success with is. but managed to crouch flash with no issue

I've never used the software update feature, much preferring to couch flash the box, getting a clean install every time (+settings restore).

The commands output:

root@osminiplus:~# init 4
root@osminiplus:~# opkg update

this is a pain, mine was on 4.2.006 and i wondered why there were no more updates. When checking it says no updates etc.

So i downloaded 4.2.010 and restored the image, then restored my latest backup from 4.2.006 and now i have to download the skin i was using again and install my picons as well :-(

And remove plugins and add the ones i was using.

Why is the online update broken ?

.... "opkg upgrade" and "init 6" don't appear to have been executed??

I tried both, typed the command and pasted it like has been said it executes but nothing updates.

Its not broken, its to do with a kernel update.

Please answer the questions as asked. If they do not make sense please say so. if you do not want to answer please say so. This will help in getting to a solution quicker.

1. Which image are you on now?
Sample answer:
I am on 4.2 009

2. How did you reach this version?
Sample answer:
I had flashed 4.2 005 by USB. I then performed a software update by pressing: Menu > Setup > Software update

3a. After flashing/installing your image, did you restore any settings?
3b. After flashing/installing your image, did you restore any plugins?

4a. Have you installed any plugins?
4b. If so, where did you download from?

5a. Have you installed any skins?
5b. If so, where did you download from?

Please answer each question separately. Sorry for the terse nature of post. I appreciate some questions were asked before. Thanks
