[ABM-DVB-S/S2] Channel 5 HD Labelled 2802 in EPG

I have committed the name overrides as a temporary measure. People can update ABM provider files using the function in ABM to incorporate the changes before they next run ABM.
https://github.com/oe-alliance/AutoBouquetsMaker/commit/31a5f68be645ad37366f979f878b9ebf09953ffa

With regards to the EPG, might be an idea for someone to get a raw stream recording so the data can be interrogated by those able to.

Thanks @abu. I saw the commit email coming in so ran a provider update and ABM "scan". All C5 family are now named correctly. 5Star+1 on LCN 141 has now/next populated correctly and has a full OpenTv EPG. None of the other C5 channels in the Freesat bouquet have OpenTV EPG or broadcast stream now/next info, so I assume it's just inaction or delay on the part of the broadcaster/playout (RedBee) service.

Also FWIW - the OpenTV derived EPG on Freesat 141 (5Star+1) although present is wrong! It is a duplicate of Freesat 137 Blaze. I re-ran the OpenTV downloader and it's still showing data for the Blaze channel. Someone in RedBee may eventually sort this out - maybe:rolleyes:

At this stage the OpenTV EPG and now/next data for Channel 5HD and Channel 5+1 on the new transponder is showing correctly. The broadcaster/playout centre is obviously doing it one step at a time. The remaining channel 5 family EPG now/next data is absent on the new transponder. Will probably come on stream in stages.

Further update. C5 (SD), CH5 HD and C5 +1 have now gone from the old transponder. The Sky bouquet in ABM is now pointing at the new transponder for these channels. The service names for these channels are now correct in the stream data as is the OpenTv EPG. My guess is that the remaining channels will move later this week - perhaps on Thursday 1st December?

They are duplicates of the originals with number titles. If you look in satfinder servicelist you will see what I mean.

Use the new version of Satfinder just committed.

I can see what you mean, but I think you may be shooting at a moving target:) The state of play right now is that most of the C5 family has been moved off the original Sky transponder and now have proper service names and have now/next data populated on the new Freesat / Arqiva transponder. There are only three channels left showing on the Sky transponder right now (15:15 GMT). Probably by day's end all the channels will have been moved and presumably the broadcaster will have removed the number titles from the stream. When you scan the Freesat transponder and look at the scan list, the number titles won't open - you get a "service not found (SID not found in PAT)" error. The broadcaster is obviously doing stuff "on the fly" at present. Would have thought this sort of thing would be done during night hours. Last night the Sky transponder had the entire C5 family but now here is the current state of play on the two transponders:

I am just commentating.

So on 10964 5USA had a SID 7710. Channel moved to 11307. Still had SID 7710 and label 2102. Then a new channel appears with SID 2102 and label 5USA.

I think the chronology is that 5 USA had a SID 7710 on 10964. Channel moved to 11307(while still being transmitted on 10964). Was labelled 2102 and had a SID of 2102. Is now labelled 5 USA and has a SID of 2102. The old label 2102 is still present and now has a SID of 7710 - which is obviously not present on the new transponder and therefore doesn't tune. I think C5/RedBee are just making a b***s of the transition to the new transponder.

Freesat EPG reader is one option. OpentV EPG reader is another option. We also have the now/next EIT EPG. Please clarify what you are using.

Sorry I'm late, it is the OpenTV EPG on Astra 28.2 that I'm using. I manually adjusted the channel names using DreamboxEDIT.

(The reference to Freesat was my mistake. I used to have that selected before I started using the built-in OpenTV reader.) As Mr Mainwaring once said "I wondered how long it would be before somebody spotted that" hehehehe

Doesn't make sense. Why would they start with a new SID and then switch back to an old one?

When testing, I remove hacks from ABM, and remove 28.2 services.

For me, after a manual scan of the transponder, the following have no SID in PAT reports
2102,
2103,
2107,
2108,
2109,

Following have no names on SDT.
2104,
2105,
2106,

I like to keep bouquets and EPG issues separate. But as we are on that path, 2104,2105 and 2106 have EPG using OpenTV EPG reader.

Makes no sense to me either. The 77xx SIDs are the ones used on Sky. I presume all will become clear once they have migrated all the services, maybe?

I think that means those services are about to be migrated from Sky to Freesat. They are the three remaining ones on Sky. I reckon they will be transferred overnight. The other services were transferred in a similar manner - the OpenTV EPG updated first, then the services got the correct name.

Well - the saga finally seems to be over! At 09.30 this morning, when I checked the Sky bouquet, the only remaining channel on the old transponder was 5Select. Two hours later, the transponder on Sky is empty (no SIDs) and 5Select has been updated on Freesat (SID 2105) with proper now/next data and entries in the OpenTV EPG. I re-ran ABM for my Sky/Freesat bouquets and all the entries on Sky are pointing correctly to the new transponder. There are still a few duplicate SIDs but I presume these will be tidied up shortly. They don't affect normal operation.

@abu - I think it's probably safe to unwind the ABM C5 family renames as the service names seem to be all correct now.

EDIT - thanks @abu. Just saw the revert.
