Firstly, thanks for accepting my registration.

Ive been reading so many posts on here, and im so confused.

Current setup.
Hdhomerun quattro using analogue aerial in the loft. I can't have an external aerial fitted.

This thing just constantly looses channels and I have to keep retuning it. They have even sent me a replacement before as apparently there are known issues with them.

I want to move away from this.

My use case is that I want to be able to watch live tv (free to air channels only) on an outside tv in the garden. Normally I would just either use the hdhomerun app that installs fine on googletv or even via plex as its added as live tv there also.

I still have an old sky dish (sky HD not Q) so im thinking of going with an Enigma2 box, running OpenVix which seems to the best way to go. On this then run the hd homerun proxy that I've seen talked about. It's essential I keep the integration in plex,as I also spend some time out of the country.

I dont need to be able to record and realistically i would only be watching 1 channel at a time.

I want to place an order on the site, but I just really dont know what I need or what is really recommended.

I believe I'll need

Enigma2 box running Openvix and install the HD homerun proxy plugin / extension
Lnb change for the sky dish
Possibly a 40mm lnb bracket / holder ?

Any help would be appreciated so I can thrown this hdhomerun in the bin.

If you have an aerial, you can use an Enigma2 receiver with a Terrestrial tuner. You only need to change the LNB if it's faulty. A sky universal LNB will work with an Enigma2 receiver. Reason people change to a 40mm LNB holder is because they are using an industry standard LNB (40mm) instead of Sky's 38mm. Sky LNBs are optimised for oval shaped dishes, so best to stick with those anyway.

Great thanks Abu.

Any suggestions on a decent enigma2 receiver? I was looking as the Vu+ boxes and they seem pretty decent ?

They will all work the same as it's the plugin you are using. What's your budget? Do you want a front panel LCD?

There are a couple of receivers on the classifieds if you want.

Not that bothered about budget, just want something that will be reliable. Screen doesnt really need to be there either as the room the cables are in the unit will be sat in that and not on view.

Zgemma H17 COMBO 4K UHD 1x DVB-S2X + 1x DVB-C/T2 is one option.

I haven't got a clue on using plex or the homerun app, otherwise I could test on my receivers for you. (I don't have that zgemma)

If you are running the homerun app you need several tuners, at least as many as the maximum number of connections you are expecting.
