Skinning concept

Well not if you dont want to have variants of the skin (or specific plugin screen skins for particular skin).
Otherwise you can use that plugin to load the skin parts for that plugin...

You can use any panel from skin default in an embedded skin.

Current skin too if you know what is loaded.

Templates in openvix default skin attempt to have unique names.

hi, where can i change the day-format: "Sa 31 Jan"? i searched thru settings... but couldnt find one. I guess, i could/should correct it in de.po to "Sa, 31. Jan" but i'm looking for a different format like "31.01.26".

No, do not change it in the translation. Most likely it is missing in the skin so the setting does not show.

ok, will wait for @DimitarCC's response. by the way, why are there gazillions of format definitions in the po file? there are around 50 just for formats starting with "%a".

Nope. this is not in the skin. Is in python... @2stein is talking about the date format inside the item.

I can not control this from the skin. Its hardcoded.

well, i fixed it in de.po... at least this format is now correct in german. there is still an extra blank (or missing blank) in "13.45- 14:45" (bottom right) which is probably in python as well, because i cant find it in po.
btw. what is the 1:00 (bottom right) good for?

The parameter is missing from the skin. Once the parameter is added in the skin the option will appear in time settings.
Code:
<parameter name="AllowUserDatesAndTimes" value="1,1"/>

For info on time formatting see here: https://github.com/OpenViX/enigma2/blob/Developer/lib/python/Components/UsageConfig.py#L430-L726

Unfortunately no. This is hardcodded in the skin.
Original header is event title which varies too much and can be very long. which makes it look very bad. So i have added my own header.

here are some german date formats:
01.02.26 or 01.02.2026 (year can always be short or long)
So, 1.2.26 or So, 01.02.2026 (day, month can drop leading 0)
Sonntag, 1. Februar 2026 or So, 1. Feb (year can be dropped)
there are no formats with /, day and month always have a . if number, weekday is always separated with ,

Officially correct, but in business that is not strictly accurate….. you see all formats - including / (even on my German bank statements)

So you have to translate some of the format strings.

So you have to translate some of the format strings.
thats not a problem. but why are there soooo many different format strings in de.po. are those the strings of ALL languages?
i also wonder why there are so many msgids as well. must be 4000-5000. does enigma2 have so many translatable strings? also there are msgids in other languages... thats strange.
